this has the possibility of being a terrible thing, or a good thing

now to the people saying "Minecraft has no storyline, how could they do a movie on it?" Remember that Lego doesn't have a plot or storyline, neither does Starbound so far and yet there's some amazing fan fics on it, the only thing that's really deciding if this is good or bad is what the writer writes and if that's good or not... that and the animation quality, and a lot of other things too... I just blew my own argument apart didn't I?

Second of all, You have not in fact made your point. Go to Youtube, watch the many, many, MANY, Minecraft animations. Many of which have plots (Albeit mostly in the form of shorts, but Egg's Guide to Minecraft and Dig Build Live have coherent plots, and the first doesn't introduce any new game mechanics, just a handful of thematic devices.)
Third, I think that you are either very irritated today, tired, or just a plain old grouch who needs to get a life, because if you had actually paid any attention to the sentence, it was meant as a friendly joke to say that I was not trying to criticize your point of view. But since it seems you are just trying to pick a fight, I'm just going to ignore you.

I'm not picking a fight, i was just stating that a minecraft movie sounds stupid, and i don't need to "get a life" i have one and you do too, i'm sorry for being rude.

I think the ending credits would be an incredible work around. It is so vague that it could just make everything so insane. If they don't do something along those lines... I really don't think I would see it. Watching a person walk around for two hours building a house wouldn't really be that entertaining, but seeing how they fit the credits in, that would be crazy.

I'm sorry, its probably because you're less experienced, so they take you less seriously. Also because people are less likely to troll on the replies to the news page.

I'm sorry I was rude.
Now that that is over, you're right, this does have a potential to go absolutely horribly wrong, but I think that if they don't do anything extremely stupid, that it will do really well.

Meh, Mojang knows that they aren't the experts on everything. They did have the makers of the Mo' Creatures mod help them with the horses. They probably mean along the lines of being involved to the point of being able to prevent another Last Airbender.
Anyone that can butcher a good storyline like that doesn't deserve to be a director, and all though Minecraft has lots more possibilities, it also has a lot more potential to fail as a movie.

All of us need to keep that in mind, Minecrat is great, and could make a good movie since it doesn't have a pre-made plot that they have to adapt, but because they don't already have something to base it off of, it could go really bad.

Really hope they don't mess up the Minecraft Movie, I prefer getting a bunch of animators like Slamacow, Elementanimation, DigBuildLive, Blue Monkey and others to collab and make the movie

It would be such a shame if it's live-action, I'd love if it was fully 3D, but well, that's what you get when the WB monopoly gets something.

Wow. Minecraft is already HUGE! If this turns out to be a success, imagine how much more popular the game would become.

I suspected this would happen. But if they do make the movie, I'd prefer it to be animated rather than live-action. It just seems better that way, and for me it would be more interesting to watch.

I agree with the person who mentioned the end credits on the game. That would be some sort of story/plot they could do.

The End credits say stuff about you being in a game, you need to wake up, go build more amazing things and stuff like that. Make the best of life. Now that would be interesting for sure, I wouldn't mind seeing something to go along with that. Though anything is possible with MC, I wouldn't mind anything they make really.

But ya, notch got pretty P.O.ed at them due to copyright, but they still get to do it!

I don't think I saw yours, I saw santast's post on the 3rd page about the credit thing. It'd be a good idea no matter who came up with it though.

That is epic! Now that I would love to see too. Real life person put into the MC world. Man so much they could for a MC movie!

I bet it'll make a lot of money! Probably not as much as the "Lego movie" But it could!! :DDD i hope for the best!
