Universal Death Clock (in Minecraft)
People have been making clocks with redstone for as long as it has been around. Of all the clocks I've seen, this one is probably the longest-running one ever - a redstone clock that will pulse a signal to an iron door, opening it approximately when the universe is expected to stop existing!
spumwack has created a ridiculously long contraption that may very well outlast us all. Check it out!
I saw this a few days ago and had a major existential crisis, literally. Dang.
Also, Sach, is there any update on our earlier discussion?
Anyways, why NASA? Why not KSP
so sad. the concept of death is just sooo....
its hard to think of whats after life D:
Based on an interesting premise to build "the most useless" contraption in that nobody will be alive to see it work, and the probability of the machine, planet, solar system, galaxy, universe won't survive to enable it to achieve its function render it useless, thus achieving its goal.
I know, right?
But you and I have a good long life ahead of us, most likely!
As has been said, depressing but COOL video.
I've always been creeped out by the abyss of time. I'm not afraid of spiders or tight places or heights or flying or darkness, but to think about aeons of time makes me feel uncomfortable.
But: At 7:38 the moon will not exist anymore. It has been burned together with the earth when the sun went into red giant state.
He should've just set it to a Googolplex of years instead.
That number would've been murder on some minds since...ya know...that's (Googol^Googol)....
I don't either.
Yeah I have. What's the big deal about it? Everything eventually comes to an end.
I think it would be interesting to see if there is a correlation between those who didn't find it depressing, and those who believe in an afterlife/God. I bet there is one.
