Cubes have been a part of Minecraft since it was first created, with other shapes - spheres in particular - long thought to be both impossible, and out of place. However, the recent Snapshot revealed a curious quirk in game mechanics that would let you create spheres, rings, and other similar shapes using a trick of redstone, as demonstrated by Logdotzip. Give it a look, and see what you can come up with yourself!

Heresy. This totally breaks the the whole game conception. I think that even this bug must be fixed, to eliminate any possible temptations in future. I propose to consider any talks about circles in MC as a tabu.

Alright, this is awesome. I would agree that it looks like it broke all logic, but seeing that it's just a bunch of cubes connected together, I'll overlook this.

I think this is cool, but I don't think it would be as fun, after all, Minecraft is made to be blocky.

OMG people are you serious?. These spheres were MADE BY COMMAND BLOCKS, they were not added to the game as a solid entity nor someone in mojang thought about it!. It's just some member discovered it. Now let's be legit , if you come around making something like this with a command block, i sure will doubt most of all your slow computers can withstand all these 1000+ minecarts without lagging beneath the 7 layers of hell. not to mention that these spheres do despawn after a short time.

Well, why not, this is a great idea!

It's a good decoration for maps or stuff like that.

But Minecraft was supposed to be square with square blocks, circles, spheres or rings are not allowed in this video game and I have no ideas why Mojang decided to add spheres in Minecraft.
