As always, you can report bugs by visiting the official Minecraft issue tracker!
Both the Acacia and Roofed Oak trees do not drop the correct saplings at the moment.
Also you can steer boats both by looking in the direction you want to go, or by using the wasd keys on your keyboard.
Nope, we haven't reached the three or more consecutive weeks of bugfix-only snapshots. I wish it did, though; I would really like to start working with the /summon and /setblock commands with my NBTeditor... oh well.
Roofed Forest has already been released... I think it was in the first snapshot released in this series. If you've played the Twilight Forest mod, the Roofed Forest strongly resembles the Dark Forest from that mod.
Ah, yes, that would be Grumm flipped upside down. He really is losing his subtelty, isn't he?
Anyways, this looks like a seriously slick snapshot. Looking forward to trying it out, and especially to the release of 1.7!
Also yay new saplings! Yay boat controls! I expect the current textures for the new wood and leaves are just placeholders until they make proper ones.
I don't really care about the rest xD
A couple of minor improvements could be made:
2x2 spruce saplings = redwood tree. why haven't they done this yet?
Max render distance = 16 chunks. this really isn't that far. The max render distance should be at least double that for those with computers that can handle it.
16 chunks is far enough once you get farther, the memory grows at an alarming rate and the odds of being able to see what is actually at the edge of the render distance is low.
People are too willing to sacrifice the gameplay value just to say that they set the render all the way and mojang kinda saves us from ourselves.
"Cough" Go into %appdata% then to .minecraft and in that folder there should be a file named options open it with note pad find this renderDistance:# <-- the pound symbol is the amount of chunks being loaded. Your welcome.
I'm serious people.... fill me in!!!
I like it dough....
