What's with Mojang being so secretive this time around?

Wow. There is now an invisible wall at X/Z ±30,000,000. Probably a good thing because you just fall out of the world otherwise. Too bad you cant do it anymore though. That was fun.

what is that biome supposed to be?a love child of desert,forest and extreme hills?
anyways this looks epic.never tried a snapshot.then the 13w37a happened.

Yes, I understand that the worlds are still super big however it takes away from the "infinite" aspect of Minecraft which makes it such a unique game.

Well just think of it as infinite and problem solved, because there's no way for anyone to use all the world, and actually, without cheating you probably would take weeks to get to that wall, so just play in survival mode and trick's done, there's no need for more than that, considering there was nothing after that, just empty space

It was nicknamed the "Disco Mountains" biome, and as far as I know, you're pretty much describing it with one exception.
There's no rain, like the Deserts.
There are lots of trees, like the Forests.
The Extreme Hills part of it, that's because of the new world type.
You know how there are Default, Large Biomes and Superflat, right?
They added one more, added directly by Notch, if I remember correctly, called the Amplified World.
Taller mountains.
Steeper cliffs.
An "Amplified" terrain generation.

made that post before i tried the snapshot.
and by desert i wasnt talking about the rain,i was saying the leaves reminded me of desert leaves for some reason.
i also tried out the amplified,dat glitchy floating sand....it is beautiful.

• Block/Item ids can now be referred to with names instead of ids
• Will soon be the only way to go

This is awesome. soon mod id conflicts will be a thing of the past. so happy!

Ugh they removed the BEST BLOCKS. ID 36 the invisible block, and other things.

There is a known issue with world structures such as Nether Fortresses not transitioning to 1.7 from 1.6, but we will be bringing out a 1.6.3 shortly to fix this.

Everyone, prepare yourselves, because mods are gonna be broken...
...once again.

Still need tweeks. I have spent hrs on the same map and only found 5 - 6 biomes total. Some biomes are too rare. The current set up is great for ppl who have no life and have the time to spend 24 hrs to find 1 jungle.
