Minecon Tickets Announced!

MINECON tickets are here!

In an effort to be fair to people who have jobs or school and those with different schedules, Mojang is releasing tickets in 3 batches to cover different days and times. Each batch is for 2500 tickets, and you can purchase up to 6 tickets in one order, to cover families or groups of friends traveling together.

THE RELEASE SCHEDULE IS:

Ticket Batch 1 – Wednesday July 31 @ 4pm PDT / 7pm EDT
Ticket Batch 2 – Friday August 2nd @ 7am PDT / 10am EDT
Ticket Batch 3 – Saturday August 3rd @ 12pm PDT / 3pm EDT

When you book your tickets you can also book hotels at our special MINECON rates. We have a variety of hotels available with different prices and different distances from the Convention Center.

Visit minecon.mojang.com to book! Tickets are $150 each, 3yo and under get in for free and don’t need a ticket!
MINECON will be held at the Orange County Convention Center and will be on November 2-3, times to be announced later (probably from around 10am to around 5pm each day).

More details will follow about activities at MINECON, but there will of course be panels from Mojang and many community members, an awesome tradeshow where you can check out cool products and services revolving around Minecraft, and of course lots of Minecraft merchandise for sale.

Volunteer and panelist submissions will be taken soon, details to come in the coming weeks.

I was in this ares for the MLP convention last summer. It is just a street with hotels, convention space, and restaurants. And btw conventions are ridiculously cheap in Orlando. I am friends with people that hold conventions and told me how enticing it is due to price to just keep holding them in FL. So I know the price is just sweet profit. But I am expecting an amazing Minecon! Especially for the price! At least there should be lots of glitter!

That being said, there are a lot of taxis. It is a busy road so walking is not optimal around there. We (being my bf, our friend, and me) are going to find out about airport shuttles before we rent a car. Truth is that we will be at the convention or out getting drunkish. Neither activity involves a car. ;-)

And the block prices for the hotels are really quite good over there for the most part. If you can book off of there I recommend it. Right now Sundays are full but I think a lot of people probably booked that didn't get tickets tonight in case they did. So I am going to look Saturday evening. Right now we got Homewood Suites which isn't so bad but their deal is kinda sucky. We would prefer a Marriot property. But if you go to the Homewood website you can book a room for $8 more than the site. So there is that... :-/

BTW we drove by the BCCC many times when were were in FL last summer. It is a pretty neat looking place!

I also want to get Tees made up with our Minecraft names and skins on them.

Wow, sounds pretty amazing, thank you for all the information. I would like to book a hotel next month but I feel as if I wait all the hotels will be full, especially those around the convention area, but I could be wrong. It seems as if you guys got it planned out very nicely although, I myself plan on doing a lot of walking. Love the shirt idea as well! I got a hat already with my username and was debating on a shirt as well along with server business cards. I wish you guys the best, have fun stay safe! Maybe some odd coincidence we will see each other, although have no idea on the appearance of you guys

Minecon isn't on everyday, is it? . It is only on once a year. So in my opinion, $150.00 is worth it.

Soo... 2011 I start playing Minecraft and I'm like, "Wtf is Minecon?". I am on west coast, and 2011 was in Las Vegas... *facepalm*

2012 is in Paris...

And 2013 is in America!! YEAH!! Wait in Florida? Dammit!
Plus tickets are $150 each... O.o

If I’m not mistaken, I think the capes will be given to you at the actual event. I have come to this conclusion due to the fact that they didn't ask you to put your associated Minecraft email during the purchase.

$150 for the ticket. So yeah. I already can't afford it with my pocket money. And the plane ride is like $400 (-.-) And plus the booking of the hotel (idk how much that would cost)

(I'm saying probably because IDK WHAT THE HOTEL PRICE IS, PROBABLY $300 OR SOME CRAP LIKE THAT XD (Cause everyone I know's going, plus all those other people. Those rooms gonna run.))

So the total for me is like probably $750 (O.o) that sucks. So there's no way I'm going. Crap!

Does anyone have an estimation of when batch 2 and 3 are going to sell out? Also did you have to enter in the credit card info in 3 seconds, or just hit 2 people, then buy?

$150 is just insane for a convention. If it ever comes to San Diego, I would only consider going for $80 at most, but even then, that is questionable.

What is this about tickets not being transferable? If I decided not to go, would I be able and allowed to sell it to someone that wants to go that can't get a hold of one? Just a curious question.
