New Minecraft Lego Sets Incoming!

On Wednesday, LEGO announced the fast-approaching launch of two brand new Minecraft kits: the "Nether" and "Village" sets! The two sets will have, as previous sets, stylized recreations of a segment of the Nether, and a villager's village, respectively. The Village set will include blocks for constructing houses, along with the Pig, Villager, and Zombie figures! The Nether kit will have Netherrack, gravel blocks, and lava blocks, as well as two Ghasts and a Zombie Pigman.

It is expected that the set will sell for approximately $34.99, and will be available starting September 1st, 2013!

I'll need to make more room on my desk for these two sets...

Is it me or is Minecraft aiming for a younger audience? I'm seeing elementary schoolers around the neighborhood getting into Minecraft. Lego sets of Minecraft would also attract more youngsters. If this is so, then Minecraft will be known as a "little kid's game" and will be headed down the path Roblox did. Believe me, I saw the downfall of that place before my very eyes and quit because of it.

Awesome! But... The pigmen and pig are to pink-ish.

Just mix super light brown and the color.

lol, awesome! I've picked up the habit of messing with a set between rounds at Friday Night Magic. May very will pick these up as well.

Ten years ago this set would hardly have been worth half the price. It's ridiculously overpriced, all legos are nowadays - remember the giant star destroyer in the magazines years ago? Now you can get something half that size and it still costs half again as much. Still, I'll probably be getting them.

lego realized that there is a lot of minecraft fans out there... so they decided to sell a bunch of small sets and get lots of money off us before we realized we were being ripped off... and...... it totally worked! i'm probably going to buy 5 village sets so that i can put all the villagers together and make sounds like they are talking!

I saw this up for sale in Australia for only $75. I've got no idea how little plastic blocks became so expensive. I understand that it can be expensive to configure and customise the blocks but $75???

Do you guys think they will make a set for every biome? If so, they won't be very detailed, as they can't make Lego Blocks that small. And the set would be hecka big. :/

More merchandise for those crazy collectors. Or pyromaniacs that like burning things and everything that displeases them, example like Ashens on YouTube just because they can.
