Upload Your Mods, Get Free Stuff!
CurseForge is now hosting Forge Mods!
As many of you may or may not know, Curse has been hosting Bukkit mods exclusively through dev.bukkit.org and we thought that it was time to open up our development community further with regards to Minecraft mods. So for the last few weeks we have been moving our old Client Mods database out of the bukkit database and into it’s own at CurseForge.
What this means is that we now have a great place to host Forge Mods at CurseForge. It works identically to dev.bukkit.org, and the whole system was built by modders from the ground up.
In addition to Forge Mods, we have another primary category dedicated to other client mods, whether they need Modloader or just need to be combined with Minecraft.jar. Plus, if your mod is compatible with Forge and Modloader you can have it listed under both by just picking both categories.
This is also an opportunity for mod authors to join our Author Rewards Program; once your mod has been successfully approved you start to earn points as people download your mods that you can redeem for PayPal cash or Amazon gift cards! You can also earn free Curse Premium if you get enough downloads per month.
We think this is a great opportunity for client mod authors who make Forge mods and other mods to get their mods out to an even greater audience. Thanks for your consideration and we hope to see our Minecraft Mod database grow by leaps and bounds in the coming months.

Important Notice for Authors
Please note that when you first get your project approved, it is still considered in the ‘Planning’ stage. You will need to go into ‘Project management’, then ‘Edit project’. Once there, you can scroll all the way down to the bottom and set the ‘Development stage’ to ‘Release’. This ensures your mod will syndicate to Curse.com. Also, if you are uploading multiple versions (i.e. 1.4.7, 1.5.1, etc.) make sure to upload them from oldest to newest. You always want the newest file uploaded last as that’s the file that will show up on Curseforge.
More info can be found at our CurseForge Knowledge base here: http://www.curseforge.com/wiki/knowledge-base/
Don't forget that we build databases at CurseForge. Then on Curse.com you can filter and search for mods much, much easier. It's not always about money, making it easier for users to find mods is our priority. We just happen to reward mod authors for their hard work with our Author Rewards Program. But you are probably right in some ways. The big mods may not want to use our system because they may earn more money though Adfly. Though, nothing is stopping them from using our site as an alternative hosting platform, we do have nice tools to keep track of your change log and we implement well with dev sites like GitHub for pushing out updates and revisions.
Also, a big thanks to the 70 or so mods I approved today. We went from a database of about 50 Forge mods to over 120, in less than 12 hours to boot! So, THANKS!!!
I can now download mods without tunneling through monetized redirection sites, picking up the "malware du jour" on the way?
I no longer have to dress my browser up in every ad-blocking, script crushing, paysite skipping script imaginable?!
I can actually use chrome now?!?!?!
and the mod authors get stuff to boot?

(dear mod: at least edit the post so I don't sound like an idiot.)
I might start learning how to make mods.
"I'm interested in this"
Though I don't think many modders will use that. But it's a lot better than making and maintaining a MCF post.
Also, I assume mods will be hosted by Curse? That's really cool then, because I hate the slow Dropbox/Mediafire etc with 5-second timeouts. I know modders earn money for it, but still.
And now I have a hope so that in the future, Curse devours the MC client and allows distribution of hosted mods straight from it (one-click downloads, multiple DIY modpacks available, integrated server support (something like Realms), downloading of lacking mods to the clients...). That would be pretty awesome tbh.
Sorry! I'm the only one that approves them and I try not too work much on the weekends(I try and get away from my computer, if you can understand that ). Saturdays and Sundays I try and go through the list at least twice, once in the morning and once at night. But during the week I should be there checking them about once an hour from 9-5 central.
