Wondering where Minecon will be held this year? Anxious to get your travel plans in order, and prepare for another awesome convention? You might not need to wait long! Minecon 2013 has been confirmed for the US east coast, although the exact location is not yet known. Jens "Jeb" Bergensten had the following to offer:
Quote fromThe contract with the location has been signed, so it's mainly a question of people getting back from business trips. ETA for announcement should be end of May. Tickets will be available later (probably after summer, but I could be wrong).
While the convention's exact location has not yet been revealed, the two most likely east coast locations would seem to be New York, or Florida. Minecon 2012 was held in Disneyland Paris, and with Florida being the home of Disney World, in Orlando, it is a strong contender for Minecon 2013. Minecon '11 and '12 had approximately 4,500 attendees.

>.> Very... very faulty logic here. It really only takes a few states into the consideration of where the con should be. If cons were planned to be convenient for "everybody" Kansas city would be the con capital of the US. As it is not... Clearly the reasoning for chosing either Florida or New York is because they have dense populations and reasonable local attractions. It's the reason Las Vegas was chosen. No one could pretend to suggest it's centralized for more than the pacific southwest, and even then it's not.
Everyone wishes minecon was going to be close/closer to them, I wish it was going to be in the midwest because if it was close enough I could drive there. But it's not gonna happen. If they are looking between Florida and New York then there is very little chance our cries for it to be nearer or further one way or the other will be accounted for because there will be cries for it to be literally everyplace.
They already DID the west coast. It was in Vegas.
I'm so hyped and excited right now. I know it'll come to Florida since FL has Walt Disney. So there's a highly chance it'll be there.
