Quick suggestion: Assuming donkeys and mules will have an accessible inventory if you give them a chest, you should be able to tie them together with ropes, and make a sort of caravan out of them.
Let me know if anyone thinks this is a good idea, or why it would be a bad one.
try to be original and do pigs instead.. horses don't fit here, pigs are original, that's the reason I do Minecraft
In my opinion, pigs are not original. I think horses are great, riding pigs just sound... Weired. Its also exremly slow when riding pigs, and horses can be controlled with the WASD keys, thats why I like hores.
I can't sign up for the bug tracker, but warning, in multiplayer if you ride a horse or a pig, you crash when you re-enter again and again untill the server owner deletes your player.dat profile.
still can decide if i approve of horses yet, but carpets 95% no, horses 80% no, other stuff 60% no, can we please have a modding api, and then we can "vote" on which mods we want in the game, i mean look back at minecraft 1.7.3, if you where to add horses back then it would be an shunned apon, to me it look like mo' creatures, too much modder feel to it an not enough mojang, to be honest i would want better terrain, optimisation ect, before we get unfitting over powered pig replacers
So does this mean if say you already loaded all the area for blocks and blocks and blocks.. and already previewed all nearby plains areas - do you have to go somewhere to load a brand new chunk to somehow get them across an ocean etc (horses). Or will they spawn naturally in plains without having to do anything additional? Server on survival doesnt let you use spawn eggs.. so.. yea....???
Minecraft is Minecraft, not survival. Minecraft means craft/biuld ANYTHING. You have wide(but still narrow) selection here what you can do. Participate in team battles with Iron Golems, slay spiders, heal mobs, trade, build... And finally there is creative mode. It just IS NOT possible to stand for sandbox survival.
Thats cool. Hey! Horses and Carpets. (Pun intended. lol)
Questian:
Is Mojang ever going to add an easy to craft Stone Lantern to the game? (I give Mojang permission to add my mod to the game. It uses a Vanilla Texture & a much needed Simple Crafting lantern recipe. :3)
Well, with the time, I kinda accepted enchanting and other stuff ...
The problem isn't that they're adding useless/unfitting stuff. The problem is that they're adding it while leaving aside the real problems of the game.
I mean, come on ! Terrain generation is blank, Nether is Laggy, Ender Dragon is stupid and too easy, etc ... These are major problems and currently nothing is planned to fix it !
Don't tell me it's impossible to fix these problems ! Mods improving terrain generation do exist, same for optimisation.
I think one of the main problems with the game is that they aren't really being original anymore, from just a game standpoint. The adventure update was welcome because it added a lot of cool things that people were interested in, and it also added a lot of cool mechanics. Everything since the Halloween update had been relatively minor. It seems to me that everything after the adventure update has been pretty generic, bland, and overall useless. Everything from mob heads which literally can't be obtained in survival to all the new terrain "features" are pretty bad. I wish they would just scrape all these updates together and release a minecraft: trilogy update or something that not only added all the stupid guff for the idiots, but also the actual stuff we should be getting, such as optimization, better terrain, better mechanics, and ect. Maybe if these updates came along with some actually interesting material they would be passable, but from where i'm looking now minecraft's future is basically the old story of "it becomes cluttered and dies of suffocation."

Minecraft was originally a survival sandbox, it's why people enjoyed the game. If people wanted to play a generic build-your-own-X game i could point out about ten different games that have been around years before minecraft was ever even an idea. Minecraft is the common day example of a survival sandbox, it became big because of it's niche appeal and ease of use. Saying minecraft isn't a survival sandbox is like saying a pencil isn't a writing utensil. All the crap you mentioned are all aspects of the "survival" part of "survival sandbox" and you deny that like an illiterate child.

We already have lanterns, glowstone, and pumpkins. These blocks emit more light than a torch but cost more and include the downside of being an actual block. What you're suggesting is basically a cobblestone lamp, which makes everything else useless. Your model is broken and unbalanced, not in a game breaking way but certainly in a noticeable.
Question: If a horse only requires 5 leather and 3 iron to ride, can jump high enough to cross terrain like fences, and can move that fast, then who will ever build minecart systems?
Horse haters, I guess. Or people who can't find horses.
I've been looking at that Mo Creatures mod and when I went down the list to the manta rays and whatnot, it really made me think how lacking ocean biomes are. Except for the rare squid here and there, they really are empty and uninteresting. I'd really love to see a bunch of new sea creatures added to them to actually make finding an ocean biome an exciting event instead of a huge pain in the butt just to get to the other side.
For that matter, I hope there's a focused update one day that sort of fleshes out the Overworld and Nether a bit more with more creatures, more random buildings/biomes/etc, and maybe even some cool events like a zombie horde appearing randomly or asteroids crashing and yielding some sort of space substance. Just some food for thought.
Hey man, Im diggin what your cookin. Carry on.
