That's right, the PC version of Minecraft has surpassed 10 million sales! Minecraft as a game continues to have a phenomenal level of success, with humble beginnings in the hands of Mojang founding member Markus "Notch" Persson, and growing over a period of years into one of the most successful indie game titles in gaming history, spanning PC, console, and handheld systems in record numbers. In addition, the recent changes to Minecraft in 1.5 - and future changes planned the game, including Mod API support, more adventure map options, and all sorts of customization options - Mojang continues to push the game to new heights, even as they get involved in the community, with everything from direct-feedback bug fixing to real-life renewal projects. With the recent TU9 update, MCX360 is hot on the PC version's heels, even as it introduces special goodies unique to XBLA gamers.
As promised by Jeb, a secret was revealed about 1.6, a feature many were looking forward to! What feature? Well...
Spoiler: It isn't pink withers!
That is a possibility. 1.6 won't be released until May so we have a while to find out in snapshots.
Those where retextured pigs if you looked close ebough in the video, I could here them oink
I agree it seems a lot of people take this for granted. Mojang has one of the best community support stuffs I have ever seen. Bethesda has updates for skyrim like every 3-4 months of bug fixes before a dlc comes out and the only one with good added features was 1.9 with the new legendary difficulty.
What makes it even better is that they got DrZhark to help them make it,
and his horse mechanics were probably one of the best representations of what it would be like to have horses in Minecraft.
Since this update is slated as the mob update and not just a horse update, I wonder if that means we'll see some other new mobs as well as well as updates and changes to other mobs.
Cheers
Dont tame horses if you dont like them! what, seeing them in your map is going to ruin the game for you? seeing horses in the wild, the ability to craft stuff you dont need but can if you want to make cooler redstone projects, and allowing others to use optional craftable/tamable/havestable stuff hurts the game for you? can you not use some creativity and imagination and play the game without taming horses even though its there if you want it? People just dont like change and will whine every time anything is ever added to any game ever! lol
I can't see the problem either. Half of them say:
"STOP ADDING THINGS"
and the other half:
"STOP SPENDING TIME ADDING THINGS I DON'T PERSONALLY LIKE"
It won't harm your game any, despite the popular belief that they make Minecraft unplayable and explode your houses.
PS: InB4 teh Beta. 10$ FTW
Yes. Rotten flesh goes in. Bacon
comes outflies everywhere. You must make this happen, Mr? Weatherman.

RAGEALANCHE!!!
For one, Mojang said during one of the Minecon panels that they want people to use the rail system more, so they will try to improve it and not make item pipes, instead forcing people to rely on carts (which they eventually added a pipe-like action that requires redstone to droppers(which defeats their purpose of adding the "dropper" in the first place so they could give dispensers more functionality)).
But if they add horses for fast travel? Minecart usage will go down even more. Some people might even use horse for item travel instead, even if they have to ride the horse themselves to do so. If horses are too slow, or are similar to riding pigs, people will complain and hate the feature anyways.
If they don't add horses for travel (as in, can't ride because of Mojang wanting players to use carts, or they end up horrible), people will complain even more than they say how much they want horses now.
TL;DR: Mojang isn't very good at implementation or sticking to their decisions. Like how they say on twitter they say they don't like automation and then add bonemeal used from dispensers.
I feel that horses are just going to be something else for players to breed and kill, and just yet another failed method of transportation that doesn't beat just walking or sprinting (or a boat if there's water already).
Eww...
Oh GOD what would they drop? Horse meat? Glue?? T_T
