Look... they are TRYING to get the mod api to work. Oh well... even though I say this, we'll still need to wait til 1.9 for it... also no squid sounds??? Then again... what sounds would squids make if they made any sounds?

I would just like to point out that the whole reason why this pre-release is out is so the modders, texturers, mappers, servers, and plugins can start updating right now, rather than the 24th. So lots of the mods, etc will be updated a few days after the 'official' release, which you guys should be waiting for if you want your mods now.

Also, so we can find bugs in it so they don't release a major version with some horrible bug.

The pre-release is so modders can get their code ready before the update is released

i saw new fullscreen mode clicked it and now the game wont work for me can anyone help me

There's actually no difference between the official release and the pre-release, that is except the pre-release is released much sooner but can only be downloaded manually and not via the game's launcher. The purpose of the pre-release is to allow modders and texture pack artists to update their mods/texture packs ahead of the official release.

If they were to make bug fixes between the pre-release and the official release, they'd make changes in the code that would make mods made based on the pre-release incompatible even if it's the tiniest bug fix, which would ruin the whole purpose of having the pre-release for modders in the first place. If bug fixing is needed, they would need to make a 1.4.1 (which would mean another pre-release so mods can update their mods for that version).

I take it since you know how to install the snapshot, you know how to navigate to your .minecraft Folder.
Go there, find the 'options.txt' file.
Open it, locate the 'fullscreen: true" and change it to false. Save it, and your problem should be alleviated.

That's disappointing 1.4 needs work.

Well, looks like Mod API isn't in 1.0...Err I mean 1.1....No wait, 1.2? No, I swear 1.3....1.4? Nah, how about 1.5.

one problem.
I really dislike the sand footstep sounds.

I really like the direction that minecraft is going in. One thing i hope to see in future updates (besides the mod API) is different types of villager races, like farlanders, pigmen, and stuff like that.

What reason now targeting specially to this part? Already weeks ago has been know that Mod API will not part of 1.4 release. Mod API required very cerefully creating because it will be hard modified later when lot mods will base at it stability. What changes in world from delay of Mod API in any cases? Modders will creating mods in old way base at own hack code or base at forge mod API. So what problem? Just pointless waving...
