Of course, on the flip side, they could just call it a mage or something more generic and it won't seem so season-dependent.
Either way, like I said, I like most of these snapshot ideas. Just hoping MC doesn't start becoming gimmicky.
-Flying
-Godmode
-Single Player Commands
-Basically mo creatures with the bats and new mobs
And, anyone who has played Minecraft in alpha, the taking away of old sounds and putting in new ones? I have known those old sounds since early Alpha.
I got used to the old gravel and actually almost liked the texture, but the new one is dumb. The new sounds, mobs, and updates aren't all good.
If there was an update that was basically allowing you to ban blocks and items, Such as the Admin cmd, I'd be happy.
No one ever likes anything added or changed, then they grow to accept it and start bitching again whenever something else gets added or changed. The Minecraft Cycle.
We "needed" new sounds? No. We did not.
The sounds were one of the few things that were still original about this game. Ever since 1.0, Mojang has been slowly ruining Minecraft. Things like bats, new food, etc. are great, it gives us something new to play around with.
But changing things that have been in this game since the beginning, things that don't need to be changed (Sounds, SSP, enchanting, mob farms, etc.) is just ruining the game.
I'm all for cool, new things. Personally, I think they should add more things that the community creates, like they did with pistons. The Aether, Mo Creatures, all the really cool, popular mods, would be awesome additions to the game. But no, instead they change unnecessary things.
Obviously nobody at Mojang understands the concept of "Don't fix what isn't broken."
I made a quick video showing off the new mobs as well as the some other things.
Bats? AWESOME.
Witches? YUNO HAVE MAGIC
better wood placing? Great!
Bows.... STILL THE SAME. WHY ARE THERE NO IRON BOWS?
Dude.. Are you a complete moron? Haha I can't stand these bastardly coments. Look it's simple. Dont like an update, choice a: get lost and join a game community like cod's where your bitching is welcom and there are no updates.. Choice b: shut the he'll up and don't update your game.
Not a bug, Mojang is just subtly telling you to stop being a Hipster and use an officially supported operating system
Let's see here...
My comment was respectful and clearly giving my opinion only on the matter, yours was rude, insulting, and had all the forethought of a third-grade tantrum. Which of us belongs here?
Getting back onto topic: clearly this is a snapshot, which by definition means subject to future changes. I like the general direction here but clearly there are some things that will doubtless be adjusted.
The Witch: very powerful for a non boss, probably should be limited in some way such as a specific spawnlocation/structure.
Sounds: I like these, but then I find novelty appealing, others may not.
I've not seen the mobs falling into blocks yet so far, so they may indeed have addressed that partially.
I had this too briefly, apparently the sounds are cached, they do come in after a short while and remain thereafter.
Hey hey hey hey hey hey hey shut up and don't update your game.
Thanks.
