MCX360 Continues to Hold High Spot, Surpasses 3 Million Sales

MCX360 continues to dominate Xbox Live Arcade, recently surpassing over 3 million sales! Combined with the Pocket Edition (over 2 million sold), and the ever-popular, original PC Minecraft (weighing in at over 6.6 million sales), Minecraft has sold over 12 million copies, worldwide!

If that wasn't enough to be excited about, there's more good news! According to Major Nelson, MCX360 continues to hold the #2 spot for top titles (based on unique users), beating out games like FIFA 12, TES: Skyrim, Battlefield 3, and Halo: Reach, just to name a few. In many ways, this accurately reflects one of the best aspects of Minecraft - the community that brings it alive. With numerous servers, mini-games, amazing architecture and incredible maps, millions of Minecrafters give life to a unique community all their own.

That's quite impressive , i didn't think the xbox version would work out so well. Guess Minecraft will stick around for a while.

dear god! minecraft is still one of the best games ever! if they make it on another console minecraft might be the best selling game of all time!

Outsold FIFA 12? Meh...minecraft is for little kids anyways...

Outsold Halo: Reach? Uh....what's minecraft again?

actually is just 864x864, but i hope they increase the world in the adventure update, because there is gona be no space in the map for the villages and the strongholds

I hope that becomes possible, but I don't know if it is. I read the limitation is due to the X360 save file size limitation. I think MS would have to ease that to allow it to be possible, but I don't see that happening. Then again if their biggest selling XBLA game is crippled due to the limitation, I guess it's still possible.

Imagine how many sales they could get if they put stuff on the Wii and PS3. (Ew, Wii.) Despite the Wii's unpopularity, it may actually be fun with Minecraft. It would have a much more, eh, authentic, if you will, experience. You would shake your arm to mine, stab, etc. The PS3 is very popular in countries other than America so that would bring in a lot of sales. If this would happen, imagine how large the community could grow. If he has a contract with Microsoft, so be it. This is my view, of course, and I find it would be fascinating if more than just a few people shared my ideals.

Yeah nah all of those games were well overrated and crap.
Their prequels were better, back when the companies were still quite young. Don't compare a humble game against those that were dumbed down, Minecraft is probably the fullest game that I have played since Oblivion.

Wonder if there are any other consoles they plan to put it on... on every console!!! Although, they need to be able to let people download newest updates on the console. Otherwise you'd have to wait til it's 100% complete for them to put it on that console... just saying

They sales are impressive, but I am still disappointed in it.... Paying for skins? ARE YOU MAD? I really regret buying this thing, when you add this on top of the horrendous lag...

Eh, I liked it when I was a noob. It was more fun, in a way. Now I am so good at it, that I can find diamonds in such little time, and I get bored of playing it so easily! I used to play for the whole day, but now I play it, not so often... actually, I should be happy! Cos I got more things to do, more games to be a noob in and have fun! Too bad Minecraft isn't getting my attention much now. or not >:DD

Minecraft didn't out sell those games. It has more unique players per week than those games.

I totaly agree with you. And why stop at PS3 and Wii. Why not expand to PS Vita and 3DS. I own a 3DS so I'd DEFINETLY buy the 3DS Version. (as long as they updated it to be like the PC version.) Just imagine all the money they would make.

I knew Minecraft would outsell Call of Duty, but I never knew it would outsell Skyrim! Let's hope PE outsells Angry Birds. Then we'll hope Mojang makes Minecraft for PS3... then 3DS... then Vita... then Wii U... after that, Mojang will rule the world!!!MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
