Split-Screen Refunds
Not long ago, Microsoft was slammed with complaints about the split-screen functionality of MCX360 - it was only available to players with an HD TV and a proper HDMI connection to the console - and in recent days, they have addressed those complaints. Microsoft has revised its listing for the game, and has been offering a refund to customers who paid for a game that didn't work as advertised (or not advertised, as the case is here).
The split-screen feature of the game was a huge draw to newcomers, especially those that believed they could just have a few friends over for a romp through the sandbox world. The initially ambiguous wording of guest passes and complete lack of forewarning regarding split-screen requirements made many buyers upset that they had been misled. The HD requirement wasn't listed in on the game's Xbox marketplace page, although this has been rectified in recent days to avoid confusion.
The guest passes, while initially confusing, have not changed meaningfully since launch, and continue to work as intended.
MCX360 1.7.3? Soon!
In more positive news, MCX360 will soon be seeing its first major update, to what most PC players knew as Beta 1.7.3! Even better, Microsoft's Roger Carpenter says he will likely discuss the update in his Thursday Minecraft Stream! You can see the stream's channel by clicking - be sure to check in tomorrow for all the details!
I will reveal at least one tidbit - pistons are included.
8gb RAM is sufficient for almost no lag on normal rendering. If you're still lagging beyond that, I think its time you invest in a better graphics card to compensate... or enhance the CPU.
Hey steam, considering you take all our hardware data, couldnt you have warned us about this when we went to purchase? NO HAHA. Can i get support or a refund because i didn't know? suck it fool, this is STEAM SUPPORT TROLLOLOLOL
Some people only bought it cause they wanted splitscreen, but they cant because the dont have fancy hd tv's.
Its is like ordering an ice cream with sprinkles, and not getting the sprinkles.
Might not be a big deal, i mean, you still have your ice cream, but you asked for sprinkles, and you got none, as well you have been unfairly charged for said sprinkles. You have thus been tricked.
So the people have a right to complain, let them get refunds because of their lack of sprinkles, its their right.
PS: i reeeaaalllyy want some ice cream right now -_-(WITH SPRINKLES!)
You sir, are soooo right, I myself, had been using a Standard TV for agessss since all this HDTV nonsense started, recently, that TV just died though and needed replacing, so i have an HDTV now, i can actually read text on my xbox games, but i still think they need to design things in general for both kinds of TV's, not eveyrone will have HDTV, and people shouldn't have to upgrade to enjoy something, we should just be able to enjoy something that we like, or have access to, i had access to games, not an HDTV, but the games always require HDTV if it has text to read, it seems =\
I agree with this. My family has owned several sdtvs that we bought back around the year 2000. when HD came out, i couldn't really tell the difference, and i still cant (i even have a laptop with a 720p screen) unfortunately we did throw em out cause we were moving and they were too bulky so it seems we will be upgrading anyways, but I honestly dont see any reason why people have to upgrade to newer tech if their old tech works just fine. I understand the difference though, You can see smaller objects (such as more text, like you mentioned) and can see why you need hd for mc splitscreen. The people commenting on the kotaku article are just dumb. They come off as a bunch of rich snobs who look down on those who cant afford gold crested everything.
well some time you have to update to a major version of minecraft because you get sick of playing the same every time
there i won't say its a bad game, i love it very very very much, but now you just can't do much the roaming around in the world.
and if you want to play with friends online or coop then its a problem but back on your post hunger does not matter because you can get potions and heal up to 4 hearts so no hunger need it!
It wasn't false advertising there is 4 player split screen, you just need a modern TV. It most likely has something to do with preserving frame-rate.
Wanting companies to develop their produces for both SD and HD, its liking bitching because you can't play online due to you still using dial-up. Get with the times go out a get a 200 Dollar HDTV.
If we're getting refunds due to advertising, can I get full refunds for the games I didn't like i.e. Rage, or by buying it used not knowing that I need an online pass i.e. Saints Row: the Third.
that's mot true guy's just stop complaining about the split screen function i do have the same issue
but it does not cares me the reason why its only on HDTV is because they ran out of time but it will be implemented
so don't worry about refunds
because it probably will be fixed in the upcoming update so stop thinking that's its mojangs fault or 4J studios or Microsoft because that ******** isn't true
