I am guessing the red gems are money, for trading with the villagers? And villages will probably spawn in villages. And the "mystery" block is probably gravel? Or some sort of concrete! The gravel is probably re-textured!

This looks pretty neat, can't wait for the snapshot. I wonder what you can buy... Diamonds perhaps?

Yeah... what? I read the post, The only "mysterious gem" I see is the currency used in the trade, which sadly enough should be painfully obvious at this point that that's EXACTLY what that new red thing is. The ONLY other thing I see on there has already been pointed out to be seeds, which I knew from looking at the picture and actually having played this game. People seem to lack sense when Mojang hints at something. It's happened everytime they've made a picture with something "unknown" in it, people go crazy trying to make it something it's not and the only reason why this is the first time I've posted about it is because I don't usually get on the forums due to people NOT reading posts before they try to refute someone else's post. NOTHING outside the main post is even official, other than what I pointed out in my attempt to draw people's attention to something that they should be looking at, and trying to stop them from calling seeds emeralds and claiming that the currency is made from redstone. But I got my laughs so I'm done with this topic, don't bother responding to this post I've said all I care to on it and I already KNOW what's coming next.

I WOULD be happy if the testificate are human :l I DONT WANT CAVEMAN SQUIDWARDS

It's about time jeb made a use of testificates but i hope that the money isn't really easy to make it could be used a replacement for vitual money plugins like iConony.

what's the ETA of 1.3? i'm not asking for it to come out, I just haven't heard any sort of release rumor. plus i need to know whether to continue my youtube series or wait til 1.3 comes out. anybody know?

No one knows yet, and no one at Mojang knows either. But probably the beginning of June or middle of june... But if I were you id start the youtube series IN the snapshot, if you want. Well im atleast starting my new survival world in it. I dont wanna wait weeks to do it again..

I still think that we will be using redstone to make these "red-coins". Maybe they are compressed redstone in the same way that 9 gold, iron or diamond make a solid block.

1. Why would money be crafted from a power substance such as redstone?
2. Then why is there a new ore in the picture?

._. im pretty sure thats just gravel guys, Ive seen where the textures for blocks get wierd when you move farther away from them, just look at the wooden planks on the building in the background, they look funky, doesnt mean they are a new block or reskined...

it would be nice to see differant type of villeges not just in differant biomes but to have some like sandstone vilages and wooden, and winter (for snow biome) so yeah......

Possible third new block. In the first pick half hidden by the trading screen and in the second in the bottom left corner and other side of the testificits. It looks like a despencer block but It might be a trader block.

if you give money to a villager for something, then kill the villager, you should get your money as a drop. villagers should drop coins when they are killed. then i can farm coins which i can use to buy stuff
though jeb may not implement coins bieng dropped for this reason. damn. then it should keep track of how much money a testificate has and drop That when it is killed.

?!?! Lol, I've seen that before! (1000x more villages hack, they spawn inside each other)

Looking forward to FINALLY being able to trade with the testificates, but it would just make more sense to me if the coins were made of gold
