Simon Lane (better known to Yogscast fans as Honeydew) has issued a response to recent statements regarding Yogscasts' alleged behavior at Minecon. They seemed somewhat confused and dismayed at statements regarding their behavior, stating that they were "surprised and confused about where this stuff has come from - especially since the only time we spoke to Notch was at the interview." Further comments by Simon emphasized happiness that they were able to connect to fans directly, and that the Yogscast crew were disappointed that they couldn't sign and meet every fan present.
Both sides of the dispute seem to point only to two tired parties having a minor misunderstanding, which is already clearing up. You can view the entire statement by Yogscastright here!
UPDATE: Notch has responded to the Yogscast's recent statement, noting that the situation is likely a "stress-related misunderstanding." He has apologized for his earlier comments, and seems as eager as the Yogscast crew to put the misunderstanding behind him.
Frankly, I'm not taking sides on this one. There is numerous possibilities on what happened at minecon, the party, So on and so forth. But I don't think 'hacking' or going to flame certain people is mature. I believe it is very childish to go and mob certain people for actions they have 'allegedly' did. I think everyone should calm the eff down and take a couple deep breaths, because imho this is getting stupid all this arguing. Go play minecraft or something.
So Notch was a liar and Mojang screwed up? Seriously, it's been days since this happened and Notch can't even be bothered to say sorry for all the wild accusations?
Honestly, I doubt Notch would lie about that and have it go public. They most likely did say something, maybe it was a joke, maybe not, but i highly doubt Notch lied about it.
seems pretty reasonable to me to wait until they got back. they were no doubt exhausted, and allegedly simon was coming down with a bug. i have no idea what they'd stand to gain from "buying themselves more time." actually they probably lost a lot of subscriptions which they could have avoided by responding immediately. they probably also had an emotional reaction to being called out by notch like that and wanted to avoid having that color their response.
the thing is there was probably some reasonable misunderstanding and everyone makes an ass of themselves occasionally. unfortunately for notch, when he made an ass of himself this time he did it in public to everyone who reads his twitter. and unfortunately for everyone, many people on the internet are too dense to think all that through. the community response on both sides has been far, far more embarrassing than could ever come out of either notch's or the yogscasts' mouths.
Let me summarize the 4,000 youtube comments by demographic for you:
Children - **** NOTCH Trolls/Dyslexics - **** YOGSCAST College Goers/Young Adults - Everyone was drunk, who gives a ****? Adults - Very mature/professional reply guys, in the absence of further evidence, I think Notch should apologize. ADD Sufferers - WHERE DID SIMON'S BEARD GO?!

I mean they could be lying but it really does just seem like Notch was upset which is understandable given all the work that had to go into Minecon. Also saying Yogscast were buying time is kind of silly, they really have been traveling around a lot. This will hopefully all pass over...
@DuffmanX18 And one thing I forgot to mention, The swearing.. Their excuse is that in the rehearsals they swore and no one said anything.. Which is fair enough, but to me thats no excuse at all, Minecraft is a game played by kids and adults alike, at minecon children and adults where there, Even if no one said to them not to swear, doesn't mean its suddenly okay, They should use some common sense.. They knew children where there.. Why swear? Because no one said anything? If they are adults and "mature" they shouldn't have to be told every time to watch their tongue and such.
I suppose the other argument that could be made is that this was their first time doing a panel, so it could have just been that they were nervous, though that's doubtful. Honestly, I don't think they can justify that behavior, and I agree that swearing around children is a no-no.
Although, one could argue that if the kids were at their panel and already fans of theirs, they would have already heard them cussing in videos the Yogscast has produced.

I have to admit, that made me laugh; though I feel i should point out being dyslexic isn't the same as being mentally retarded.
I just think notch should explain why he thought the way he did and what his information was based off of. His tweets don't match up with the Yogscast's mature response, so explaining the way he way thinking back then should help with clarification issues.
Its is obvious that they dont want take responsibility of their own acts so they dont recognize them. I cant believe people swallow this BS.
Oh yea you were there with them right? Witnessed it all. Lol, unless you know for a fact your post is true stfu.
Anyway, I still love Notch and the Yogscast and hope they can be friends again.
