Simon Lane (better known to Yogscast fans as Honeydew) has issued a response to recent statements regarding Yogscasts' alleged behavior at Minecon. They seemed somewhat confused and dismayed at statements regarding their behavior, stating that they were "surprised and confused about where this stuff has come from - especially since the only time we spoke to Notch was at the interview." Further comments by Simon emphasized happiness that they were able to connect to fans directly, and that the Yogscast crew were disappointed that they couldn't sign and meet every fan present.
Both sides of the dispute seem to point only to two tired parties having a minor misunderstanding, which is already clearing up. You can view the entire statement by Yogscastright here!
UPDATE: Notch has responded to the Yogscast's recent statement, noting that the situation is likely a "stress-related misunderstanding." He has apologized for his earlier comments, and seems as eager as the Yogscast crew to put the misunderstanding behind him.
So Notch was a liar and Mojang screwed up? Seriously, it's been days since this happened and Notch can't even be bothered to say sorry for all the wild accusations?
And you do realize that they just posted this, and notch most likely hasn't seen it? Don't be such a fanboy.... It's obvious you don't like notch, and have a boner for Yogscast.
What do you expect Notch to say? I mean...Blindly accusing someone makes you look dumb, specially if you accuser made a very mature statement whereas Notche's tweets looked like tired rants. I mean, read what he said, get the **** out of here. I'm old as hell so I don't really watch the Yogscast, but I do know of their "crude humor" and they don't seem like dickholes....Whereas Notch, well, he simply looked dumb and sinister! Sorry notch, perhaps you're...."wrong"?
Notch did the silly thing of getting over dramatic about the scenario, he should have left it off twitter and gone directly to the source.
Now we all have to deal with this ridiculous media coverage and mass related topics that shed no light on the matter nor help us move on from it.
Yogscast seemed to be very apologetic about the whole misunderstanding and want to now move on, i do hope this means that notch can do the same...otherwise shame on him.
All in all this is just a bit of drama in the workplace, it should never have been directed to the public (notch) but that won't stop me loving minecraft and spending all my money on merchandise and all my free time playing it
It's funny how people go from OH MAN YOGSCAST IS BAD, NOTCH IS THE BEST to OH MAN NOTCH IS BAD, YOGSCAST IS THE BEST. Reddit is a pretty silly place.
Honestly, people, even with these statements, you still don't know the truth of what happened. Don't take sides. Just play the game and watch the videos. It'll all be forgotten to history soon enough.
I'm wondering if maybe Notch got his information through a third party who was trying to stir up ****.
In any case, props to Yogscast for such a mature response. Lets hope they can patch things up, then we can get this mess sorted and put it all behind us.
I posted in the first topic about how we needed to wait to hear the Yogscast's side of the story.
Having heard it, I am definitely impressed with their response to the situation; and i really think Notch owes them some sort of explanation and/or apology, not just because of hurt feelings but because of the damage this has done to the Yogscast financially.
Before the debacle they had around 1.5 million subscribers on their main Youtube channel: now they're down to 1.2 million. A loss of 300,000 subs is hardly a minor thing, considering that the Yogscast makes their money off their youtube channel and the views they get from their videos.
As well, their official website is being DDOS'd for this incident; which is actually illegal. I doubt very much Notch ever intended for people to DDOS them but its still a direct result of his wild accusations on his twitter account; which was again very unprofessional and not what you would expect from someone who has such influence.
On another note...selling the rights to livestream their stuff without consulting them is a really bad move. I don't think the Yogscast are the ones who need to be taught some respect in this situation.
unfortunatly probobly another arguement will take place...sorry for bad speellling

I wonder if admitting association to ddosing can get you banned on these forums, guess we will find out?
