It has been an exciting convention! We have seen numerous panels (including the Bukkit panel, seen below), awesome giveaways and so much more. Take a look at the Bukkit panel here!
I have nothing against the Voxel stuff (in fact, I think it's pretty cool), but the only way Bukkit really connected to this was by the implied, "You need Bukkit to use this." Aside from that, this wasn't about Bukkit itself at all, and that's kinda disappointing, because I wanted to learn more about what sets it apart from vanilla servers besides mod support.
yeah, bukkit isn't just for mods, it's also for security, administration, file management, environmental controls, permissions, and server maintenance. IMO any summit on Bukkit should include a discussion of each one of those basic categories. Because running anything bigger than a LAN server you need to start thinking about those issues.
"When people tell us it's impossible to do with bukkit, we do it anyway." Okaaay, well can you add something simple like... Say an admin control plugin, that has a UI, and does not rely on the caht to function? How about a new block, which clients can see too, without having to download anything OUTSIDE the game? No? Didn't think so.
What that guy said was wrong near the begining. He said: Bukkit was the first minecraft server mod ever made. That is JUST wrong! Hmod was the first server mod made! Then Hey0 stop making the server mod because he was no longer interested in minecraft. So bukkit took the lead. Very unsuprising for the guy who presents the thing.
Ruining the way Minecraft was meant to be played for over a year.
@Migrosbudget My thoughts exactly
btw, that guy seems really nearvous
and dull, I have a vanilla 1.0.0 server
Jk i love this
