Jeb recently released Release Candidate 2! Feel free to test it out, and be sure to report any bugs. The full version of Minecraft launches soon, and you can help it be the best it can be! Get it right here!
What's awesome about that is that I probably have to play the game from scratch in order to test it properly now. :(Looks like my old worlds will have to go to waste.Additionally, I can understand the need to remove the grunt noise as your player falls. We have female player skins (as well as aliens) of course, so a male grunting noise isn't so great. If they're going to add all these extra sounds, how about a clanging sound when you hit a mob (does it in silence currently), and how about some noise when you (or a mob) drop from a height? That would be fun. (wheeeeee.... crunch!)
well im sure the official release will not crash the game when loading old maps, just dont play RC2 or dont play your worlds.
1. Download the client file(minecraft.jar), if it is a zip, edit the name and change it to jar(they are both compressed files and it actually does work)
2. go to your home folder and click on library/Application support/minecraft/bin
3. place minecraft.jar in that folder and replace the old file. It must be named minecraft.jar or minecraft wont find it.
I can't believe how it was so fast between back last year when I joined the Minecraft community and in July, when I bought Minecraft. I can't believe the fact that it's going to be fully released..... Ok, in 4 DAYS, MINECRAFT IS RELEASED! Though I give a diamond to Notch for such a wonderful game.
you know, im really upset that minecraft came this way, its turned into an RPG game, that REALLY dissapionts me. A while ago, i thought up the idea for a section in the menu wher you can select features from back then and de-select features from nowadays or just a bunch of buttons with witch you can just pick any previous version, such as Survival Test, or Indev, Infdev, or even Alpha, right before that (stupid in my opinion anyway) Halloween Update, or just siply any version from those days!!! But, main reason i'm posting this, is becuase the main objective of minecraft has changed from "Build and Survive" to "Survive, And Kill Mobs!" Its gotten Minecraft TONS of fans, but, im still a bit upset!
besides from 1.9 the only things dif are the blocks in the inv look way cooler and the sounds the endermen and blaze sounds are cool and when your player gets hit it makes a splat sound
Anyone else that spawns in a new The End find themselves being spawned over the void and far from the island of the place? And with the dragon being able to push you far... FFFFFF
People must be getting ready for Minecon soon because I'm watching Let's Make a Deal and someone has a helmet/mask of Steve
I'm still not understanding all this hate about MC now having XP and an ending/credits, etc. It's like complaining that a band has refined their sound but you still like their old stuff better than their new stuff. Sure, it's not the old game but it's lost nothing that it once had (except numerous map glitches, bad lighting and bad FPS) and things have only got better.
Don't like enchanting or potions? Don't use them. Easy. One of the things I loved about Fallout 3 was that you could just run around, completely ignoring questing and still have fun. In F3 though you couldn't co-operatively build massive projects, program basic machines and have each new world completely different.
Bring on the official release. Mojang aren't going to stop updating and the game is as strong as ever.
i don't know if this was fixed in earlier pre releases but breaking stair blocks gives you a stair block back now, instead of just a normal wood or cobblestone block
well im sure the official release will not crash the game when loading old maps, just dont play RC2 or dont play your worlds.
you need to put the file into your bin folder.
you can find it by hitting windows key+r and type in %appdata% and selecting .minecraft
Then start minecraft
