1.9 Updates: Potion Updates
"In the prerelease, there are 161 brewable unique potions. Unless we change it, there will be 2,653 with all ingredients added."
While the code for potions is already somewhat in place, there do not appear to be any plans to make them available until the 1.10 release. We do not know all 2,653 possible future combinations; however, we have compiled a brief list of some known potions and their effects. Take a look!
Also, as a side thought and not as important, just another idea.. make it dangerous where mixing wrong ingredients or improper use can cause negative effects if ingested (poison, weakness, death-by-zombification)or thrown (buffs/enrages mobs, summons a horde of angry mobs) etc.
I would also like to see Runic Spells and effects at some point. Using different Rune combination to cast different spells, or inscribe them to cause AoEs.
And I do hope more potions will be worth while, as opposed to potions that kill your, slow you, and other pointless things.
Not at this moment, but with more than 2000 more potions to be added, I'm sure those "useless" potions will be steps along to other potions.
For instances add sulphur and it becomes an area effect potion that explodes and effects those around it like a grenade when thrown, add something else and it could be used to coat your weapons, etc. Or even if it just affects things if thrown at them, like say throw the poison potion at an enemy and they become poisoned.
Right now all that stuff isn't in there, but give it time.
