1.9 Updates: Potion Updates
"In the prerelease, there are 161 brewable unique potions. Unless we change it, there will be 2,653 with all ingredients added."
While the code for potions is already somewhat in place, there do not appear to be any plans to make them available until the 1.10 release. We do not know all 2,653 possible future combinations; however, we have compiled a brief list of some known potions and their effects. Take a look!
1.10?
Are you still in 5th grade?
Basically you combine ingredient, so far there's 7 and they will give you potion with different effect.
EX: if i put water, than ghast tear and than magma cream you will get instant heal III and fire resist 3mins.
If you add sugar to the mix than you will get instant heal II, speed II, fire resist 3mins and hunger 1,30min.
Basically there's billions of possible combination, but only 161 unique potion so far.
There's not too many, they all have advantage and weakness. Like some good potion will come with poison or etc.
Made me laugh since the potion give instant heal, imagine it like the old food system. Also there is an effect for underwater breathing so enjoy that XD
Yes there is 19 effect so far, some are REALLY hard to get while other are too easy to get.
I don't know if they will add more effect once the other ingredient come out.
I kind of agree... Its a nice addition and all, but,
Dear Notch,
Please don't turn Minecraft into Fairycraft. I like it just fine without this magical stuff... it also seems to "witchy" to me... especially having allot of the ingredients from the nether makes me feel like its a ritual or something. -And sinse you are going to add in all these potions anyway, at least have some "good" magic from the sky dimension or something.
"Hey dude, let's go on a Nether expedition!"
"Sure! First we should go down to Jackal's alchemy lab and pick up some potions."
Also, every map should have one generated city, which is like a HUGE village with cobblestone or stone brick roads, and a castle with a king NPC. Then it would be like a large kingdom, with a main city governing smaller villages. The castle would be very large (obviously), and if you try to lay siege a ton of knights wearing chainmail or iron would come after you and defend the castle. It would be a challenge for a ton of people on a server, to capture the castle! Also, the castle could have a room in a tower where a robed guy brews potions!
Yeah, anyways, I'm done ranting about things I think would make Minecraft insanely better.
i think invisibility doesn't work for the moment so we don't know how it work.
It's probably going to make you invisible to monster and remove your tag over your head in multiplayer (GREAT for machinama!)
For those of you who think you know everything and are trying to ignorantly argue that this next update should be 2.0 because in regular mathematics you drop the 0 off of the end of any number after the decimal and the beginning of every number before the decimal, this isn't mathematics, this is game development, and 1.10 will be version 1, patch 10. 1.10 just abbreviates it. To whoever that ass was trying to insult the other guy for saying 1.10: you are wrong, he's right.
I guess I'll finish this off by saying once again, I think potions have a really good chance at turning minecraft in a bad direction, for me at least. Now I'm just waiting for the day Notch decides to add spells and spell books and magic powers...
