Jeb recently tweeted that 1.8 will most likely not be released tomorrow (9/13/11), but an update to the pre-release that's currently in circulation was highly likely. Mojang wants to make sure this release is the best it can be, and is continuing to squelch bugs even as they fine-tune the features.
Players who are still looking for bugs in the 1.8 should make sure to submit or update bugs they find here, so Mojang can facilitate a smooth transition to 1.8!
quick question, what would you rather have? not waiting for 1.8 and having it be glitchy and buggy as hell OR
wait a little longer for them to fix more of the bugs [note if you want to not wait to play 1.8 and instead have it buggy and glitchy as hell play the pre release]
will it just be a automatic download or is it something we have to download from here. Because i could not download the test for 1.8 because my computer didn't like it
I wonder If the flood of bugs reporting is a cause of the delay. I wouldn't want to send someting out before I was shure I wasen't going to get hell form just about every 10-30 year old on earth.
(fly on wall)
(voice)"umm thats a lot of bugs."
(other voice)" Yha good thing we leaked that alfa would of been horible if we just sent 1.8 out and then had to deal with all of this."
(voice) "Yha 100,000 bug testers who arnt on the payrol saving our butts"
(other voice) "HAY IS THAT A FLY" WACK! (static......)
I can wait for the update, waiting isn't that bad. I even understand making sure you put out the best product you can and taking the time to do so. Do they, however, understand that the more they say it's delayed for improvements the more people are going to expect what you kids call "epicness". Not me however, it will be what it is. :mellow.gif:
If this is how Mojang handles programming and deadlines, then this is not a company I will consider purchasing from in the future. Congrats, Jeb, you lost a potential customer.
Mother of the holy, living god! BLARG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok have fun crashing every time you try to smelt something what have ANY OF YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT 1.8 BEING PUSHED BACK DONE TO HELP THE PROGRESS??? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM????????????? NOTHING just like i thought, and if you werent bitching about 1.8 being pushed back so they can fix the bugs
in 1.8 you would be complaining that 1.8 was buggy so gtfo
This game is still in beta. They don't *have* deadlines. They can do whatever the hell they want, when they want.
You people are absolutely pathetic. You can wait a little while longer. Just go play the 1.8 PE until you feel better. Good lord.
Actually on topic:
I would much prefer a quality product as opposed to a half-assed rushed one. I give +1 internets to Jeb and the rest of the Mojang crew for not giving in to player related peer pressure.

A: Good thing this is a beta and they don't have hard deadlines. No one *EVER* said "1.8 *WILL* be out X day." No one. Not Jeb, not Notch, not anyone else. They simply speculated.
B: Good thing you already paid. They have your money.
C: Bugs happen. Would you prefer a game that could potentially corrupt your worlds to the point of never being able to be saved, or would you prefer a game that you can happily use those worlds in? :smile.gif:
Ok. CAN'T WAIT TILL 13th!!!! xD
EDIT: Omg i got first on a post like this...
Also If they need to wait for tomorrow to crease out the bugs, that is fine on me xD
ANOTHER EDIT: Guys, don't complain they are taking along time, they are making the update as good as can be.
i agree. and if you dont then just think of the prerelease as the actual release. and if you have a different opinion its wrong

If not tomorrow, that is at a minimum, Wednesday, that is more than one day. Pushing back one day would be Tuesday.
Curse you , curse you!!!
