Jeb recently tweeted that 1.8 will most likely not be released tomorrow (9/13/11), but an update to the pre-release that's currently in circulation was highly likely. Mojang wants to make sure this release is the best it can be, and is continuing to squelch bugs even as they fine-tune the features.
Players who are still looking for bugs in the 1.8 should make sure to submit or update bugs they find here, so Mojang can facilitate a smooth transition to 1.8!
Welp, all the bugs I've noticed have already been reported/are being worked on.
Take your time guys, you're doing an excellent job. -goes back to playing the pre-release-
Keep up the good work Notch and Jeb! Why is everyone complaining about not getting the update and whining about the delays? This stuff happens with the gaming industry. Lets give them some support on their hard work so far and many hours from their personal lives to be working on such a game. Cant wait for 1.8 to actually be released!
First Mojang said: "We expect to have the adventure update ready for release in august," way back when they released 1.7 on June 30th. Then august rolled around and we didn't get any word on a release date till august 27th at pax, where they announced it would, hopefully be released on September 8th. Then september 8th rolls around and they say, " Nah Dawg, notch is too busy working on meaningless side projects to give a damn about fulfilling his promises and obligations to his massive fan base, and has dumped ALL of his minecraft responsibilities on Jeb, who's trying his hardest to release 1.8 on time, but is having a lot of trouble doing such a massive work load all by himself, so he's begging the community to just have a little more patience, and wait till the 12th." Now, today, Notch is still doing **** to help, and Jeb needs a little more time because NOBODY is helping him. 1.8 is my favorite mirage.
I remember after the first delay just as a joke on youtube on the song "still alive" from portal when she sang "And we're out of beta we are releasing on time" i said Obviously something Mojang can't do. Now i know i said EXACTLY the right thing. I came home from school so freaking happy bout 1.8 and i see this ****. Next delay and a can of sprite is up jebs ass.
i think it's funny that all the whiners whining about 1.8 not being released are the same ones PLAYING it already in pre-release
such events beg the question, why the whining?
Things you nerds and annoying little kids can do while waiting instead of bitching
go play with real life friends
or Girl friend..
Watch TV
Play another game or mincraft 1.7.3 untill it comes out.
or just wait for it..
Troll Alert, Troll Alert; must euthanize: I'm perfectly fine with waiting, it's when you think that the waiting is finally over just to have the rug pulled out from under you three times that is truly bugging and grating me. Why don't YOU find something better to do with YOUR time than troll on a thread, where people are just posting their disappointments about how Lucy just yanked the elusive football away from them for the 3rd time in a row.
I'm fine with waiting but seriously this has gotten out of hand. 1 month ago it was August 29th or 30th, Last week it was September 8th, yesterday it was the 12th and now just and update to the pre-release is coming tomorrow, not the real thing. Seriously I am patient but I am pissed off.
GOSH DANGIT NOTTTTCCCCCCHHHHH AAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDD

Sorry for the wall of text; it seems the world is full of morons who no longer read paragraphs.
I want to point out that on the home page, before you bought the product, you must have seen the disclaimer. Remember that part about "this is a beta?" Did you bother to read the part that said that Mojang reserved the right to discontinue this experiment at any time? I doubt anyone realized how big a hit this was going to
become - so big that it has cult status already, and lawyers from giant companies are actually engaging in stupid lawsuits probably looking for some licensing cash. This is not from a company pretending to be tiny (BIS), this is from an actual tiny damn company that has allowed unprecedented access to the code and allowed actual money to be made from third party mods, instead of calling everything derivative. Now I'm not a fanboy, and had I been promised anything that was not delivered, I'd be upset (I am a paying customer), but in my opinion, you might try cutting them a bit of slack while they get things right.
