Jens and Notch havejustannounced that the 1.8 pre-release .jar is available for public testing. It is important to remember that this is NOT The final release of 1.8, and is still extremely buggy. If you find any bugs, or need support, please join the #minecraft channel on irc.esper.net using your favorite IRC client!
NOTICE: This version will only work if you've paid for Minecraft, all the more reason to step up!
Nevermind, it just leaves the image of the item on the ground. You still get it in your inventory, it just appears to still be on the ground. Fix please

That bug was there in 1.7.3 when I threw some items to the ground using zombe builder mod, then disable the mod and try to collect them. They would just stay on the floor. I don't think it's 1.8 exclusive :tongue.gif:
PS: Still, anyone got info about f3 not showing ids?
seriously i need help. i use windows XP, browser mode. i got a fresh 1.7.3 .minecraft and put the enw minecraft.jar in the bin folder. browser mode goes black. now what D:

you have to go to your %appdata% and to the minecraft folder, delete the original minecraft.jar in the bin folder and replace it with the new 1
You can help speed it up by looking for bugs, and documenting bugs with videos, screenshots, and text accounts. This is what this trial is for. An army of bloodthirsty minecraft fans will find bugs quicker than Team Mojang, if we work together.
Smooth Lighting causes a crash when changed on main page via options.
Multiple different lighting failures in the game.
Mountain range is notable bigger than other biomes, a bit overpowering.
Some NPC villages have a stone house that spawns 1 block too low, causing the door to be 1 block high (Confirm this is a bug?)
Friendly mob generator a bit too high? (I saw 16 pigs on my screen 20 blocks from my spawn)
F3 is no longer debug mode, so you can't see mob IDs. (Good call Mojang)
Cloud height raised (No longer floats through buildings, another great change)
So far it's a nice update, still working on reviewing it. Can't wait to Youtube this.
I can't eat...right click with food doesn't do anything.
Furnace locks up game with 'loading chunks' screen
Hold the right mouse button. Eating takes time now, and is animated...sorta. :smile.gif:
The eating-takes-time thing is no doubt to keep people from rapid-fire eating their stacked food.
This game is NOT ready. There's too many friendly mobs, the game crashes when using a furnace for anything, and all the other bugs mentioned in this thread will pop up. Modders, rejoice, it seems my texture pack (i forgot to uninstall) was working fine and dandy.
Have a nice day guys, things WILL be sorted out soon.
I don't get the furnace crash. It's not like it happens to anyone and of course it's not ready duh! Stop flamin pls :smile.gif:

Also, my friend just told me that no matter how many times he tried to sleep in a bed, it was still night-time
I can confirm that in the pre release. No IDs when F3 is used. I wouldn't be surprised if Notch or Jeb removed it.
