A short while ago, Notch talked about some of the exciting behavioral changes in animals for 1.8 - most notably, how they will now flee when attacked, rather than stand there and stare at you. This ended up having the added effect of wolf attacks looking more "natural", in a sense, as prey would now flee its attacker, rather than look around blankly and grunt. He went on to say that - due in part to the behavioral changes, and a desire to see more dynamic mob-to-mob interactions - he is beginning a super-secret weekend project! What does it entail?
Smarter pigs? What's next? Pigmen NPC's making villages? And then what? Zombie Pigmen? Is this world changing into a pigman's land? Are Pigmen going to drop dollars? Will they have pet sheep, which bah when something comes nearby, like a loyal dog? Will squid learn to walk on land, become 3 blocks tall, and move blocks around, to make cities themselves? Maybe, they might even smart small, by just moving blocks around randomly, and eventually, on a future update, they will learn how to build! O: We must name them... The farlanders!
I'll just assume you were joking around, but if so, then to everyone else, the "secret project" is from what I've heard, something completely Minecraft unreleated. It's some prototype for a possible future game. Might be he is working on a game for another company or something.
at this rate we wont be out of beta or release on time.... oh beleve me i am still alive.... Im doing science and im still alive.... still alive... still alive.
im glad to hear hes going to add a few of the suggestions to the swamp, and the new animal coding is pretty sweet, but the secret project is KILLING ME to know what it is!
been waiting for so long, but it will be totally worth it.
It'll be replaced, with the excitement when you **** your pants when Endermen get you.
