Nope, that "more pixelated" area is NOT a higher block(not even if you can go through blocks), plus I can see, without any obstruction, the side of the chest.
My guess is that there are now hidden chest.

I completely doubt that he is going to ask "can you spot the second one?" just to notice the slight graphic dynamics, that would be stupid!

the fact that the chest is actually face's east when its not right up against the wall. since i know in multi they always face west

look how the chest is placed, was that ever possible?

If that IS sand in his LEFT hand... Then clearly the new feature is turning off the GUI without removing what you're holding from view... Or maybe... COLLAPSABLE GUI!?! The item bar, health bar, and junk slides out of screen when not needed?... Just saying, if he is holding something the GUI should be there.

He is holding a piece of sand in his left hand!

For all of you claiming he's holding a block of sand in his left hand; you're wrong. The rest of the HUD would be displayed and there would actually be something there. I understand the confusion, though. Notch is standing one block above the stuff behind the chest. The little sliver of another sand block you're seeing there is actually what i just described it as. A little sliver of another sand block. It's just one block below the sand directly in front of Notch, and therefore is causing it to look like there's a sand pressure plate, or him holding a block. As i said before, if there was a sand block there, his arm would be showing, too. That rant was a bit repetetive, but so were all the comments i read before posting this. It's a bit too bad nobody could figure that out on their own.

Notch said he completed two NEW things the lighting he already completed before this picture. look closely to the left of the chest. Notice how the the pixels aren't in line with the others. This means Notch added a SAND pressure plate to many people this could be a massive face palm. :smile.gif: hope this helped!

No it's a piece of a block near him. If he was holding a block, it wouldn't be visible since the HuD is disabled.

I think that just counts with the open chest

What I REALLY want to know is if the vines are climbable!

Yeah I saw that too. My first thought though was, "Maybe it's a sand pressure plate?" Though that doesn't make much sense. Perhaps dual wielding maybe?

watch the video footage of 1.8. He changes from day to night and back and the clouds are not orange during sunset/rise. However, in this picture they are orange.

The supposed "sand pressure plate" is just 2 block of sand next to each other. go ahead and replicate it and you'll see.
