A new image of the new creature - commonly referred to as "Endermen" - was released recently (enhanced here, for light levels). This image is much more up-close-and-personal than the first, giving us a good look at the new creatures. It would seem that wearing a pumpkin prevents the new mob from seeing you, although this is unconfirmed at present.
Additionally, Notch mentioned a possible name-change for the newly minted mob, "Farlander" being suggested and, apparently, already in heavy use.
Why don't we just call them Enders? Why call them Ender-Men" if they bear more resemblance a brainwashed Frankenstein monster than a sentient being?
Plus, "Ender" just sound pretty kick-ass.
Edit: I'm just interested to see how it comes out. I'm not really that into it, but I'm leaning toward Far-Landers just because I want to see the myths, fan art, videos, Minecraft "Movies", mods, etc. that come out featuring an actual relation between them and the Far Lands. Community explosion, so to say.
People who picked it probably are picky and greedy and don't enjoy the game.
LEAVE Enderman THE WAY IT IS
but if the petition shows a strong community preference for "farlander" than Notch may reconsider
you're argument sounds suspiciously similar to semantics.
old news. everyone knows they can pick up and move blocks. it was in the first endermen photo
