1.8 Updates: Endermen or Farlanders?

A new image of the new creature - commonly referred to as "Endermen" - was released recently (enhanced here, for light levels). This image is much more up-close-and-personal than the first, giving us a good look at the new creatures. It would seem that wearing a pumpkin prevents the new mob from seeing you, although this is unconfirmed at present.

Additionally, Notch mentioned a possible name-change for the newly minted mob, "Farlander" being suggested and, apparently, already in heavy use.

We have a poll for the creature's name, check it out! Response to the poll was so overwhelming that it actually overflowed what the poll was capable of storing! We have fixed the poll - however, any previous votes will have to be re-cast. We apologize for the inconvenience!

I prefer endermen, but either way's fine. I'll still call the far lands the far lands if it gets changed.

Aren't these supposed to be a spoof on slenderman?

Enderman follows the spoof, while farlanders makes them sound stupid since they come close to you anyway.

It also looks as though arrows are actually sticking into the mob, maybe arrows will stay on the player too. ...*Wonders if there's a way to remove them*....

Farlander, cuz they look like when they take the blocks that there gunna make their own home, so there from some far away place and there making a home :tongue.gif:

Also, if you enlarge the image by clicking on it, you can also see that the skeleton is looking straight at the Enderman/Farlander and there is an arrow already flying towards his back.
