Some time ago, we took a look at the up and coming mod, Evil Minecraft. They have decided to release a preview version of the mod to the public, to get a taste of this massive total-conversion mod!

Evil Minecraft comes with large number of features; for example, you can craft vines that you find in the world to make a vine rope, as seen above. The enhanced flora is complimented by an exciting list of unsettling fauna, such as dangerous boars, exploding creepigs, giant chickens and the terrifying camouflage creeper! Dungeons have also received special attention, being much larger than their vanilla counterparts. In addition, the game will generate vast underground temple ruins to explore. What lies within? What other exciting features wait to be discovered? Get the mod here and see for yourself!

It is compatible with Aether, except the moss/vine textures. We're probably going to change that in the first update.

in the dungeon underneath one of the spawners was a chest.

Ah but what you don't understand is this is just the preview of the mod. After we get licensing and the API from Mojang, we'll be converting almost the entire thing. If you have a problem with that, then don't post and go about your business.

Then the Mod Spotlight Update should read:
"They have decided to release a preview version of the mod to the public, to get a taste of this massive total-conversion mod ("will eventually be a total conversion")!"
If you have a problem with that, then don't post and go about your business.

It did state that it's the preview mod, both here and in the mod's thread, if you cared to read.
