1.8 Updates: New Mob...Revealed?

Notch revealed a screenshot of one of the new monsters for 1.8!

Seen here is a screenshot of a new monster in the works for 1.8. While Notch didn't specify exactly what it was, it seems fairly apparent that this new arrival in Minecraft isn't especially friendly-looking. What is it? What can it do? We will keep you updated as this information becomes available!

Maybe they can only break certain blocks weak ones like sand gravel dirt things like that. If we build things out of stone cobblestone gold diamond(blocks they are hard to break) and wood(maybe wouldn't try it.)Maybe if we put traps around our house (lava water maybe not they do look kinda squidish) then we should be safer. Now how do we kill them? and what do they give us after death? :dry.gif:

Based on the fact that they pick up blocks, mabye their purpose is to make holes in your shelter to let other mobs in.

Looks like their inspiration was "Him." Glowing eyes, stealing items. Or they could just be aliens. Either one.

Horrifying...I hope they throw blocks at you and DON'T take blocks out of the environment. I.E My house.

Hopefully it won't be a block stealing mob. If they can steal blocks then I have a feeling that the end of the world is near.

Maybe- Maybe they are teh npcs but like spiders they are hostile at night. and they steal things to build their villages.
