Jeb posted another teaser image, this one of a cooked chicken. While nothing was specified about it, there also appears to be a new mystery bar beneath the health track - what could it be?

Additionally - Notch appears to have been experimenting with map-height changes. He went on to say that while nothing definitive is planned, they are looking into possible map height restrictions in the future.

Finally - a new launcher is being tested! You can help test it here. Bear in mind, it is only launching Minecraft for the moment, but the stress-testing of the launcher will provide helpful data for Mojang, to further improve it!

Really? I've only heard of him playing AROUND with it, and that he thought it was interesting. Could you show me were it was confirmed? I only get news from here or his Blog

Love the taller worlds, but chicken is meh. Also love the hunger bar as well!

Man, I'm getting more and more excited for 1.8! At first I thought I wouldn't care since I prefer building to surviving, but now I can't wait to start adventurin'

The new bar beneath is obviouly armor. The food slots replaced that armor bar, so it had to go somewhere.

Notch said it was him testing a 256-block high map. He also said it doubles the lag and RAM usage though.

In other news, I opened up Minecraft in the new launcher and somehow got 190 fps, which was amazing. I usually get about 15.

Ok...I dont mind the hunger bar. I just hope that it isnt ridiculous. Also xp in minecraft is more of a multiplayer thing if you ask me. Also....WTF HAPPENED TO THE ARMOUR?

That bottom bar is either an exp bar or a stamina bar.

That mountain is truly awesome. It'd be cool if there was a motive to get to the top of it... like a new ore that only spawns at higher hights. Just a thought.

Looking at the bar below the health and the food, I'm guessing that you can level up in the new adventure mode. And the experience orb that they discovered in another picture fills up the bar. Also, without eating food, it would slowly damage you like staying underwater too long.

I would have to say that it's the health bar, then a hunger bar, and what I assume to be a stamina bar underneath the two.

Notch on Twitter said that the level.class file now only takes one change to change the height of the map. He said that 128 is the max for now and that 256 took twice as much ram.

Looks like a food bar on the right and the armor bar underneath. Notch said he was going to add realistic mode, so hunger will probably only be in that mode. (and hardcore mode if they decide to do that finally)

Notch did post something on Twitter about an experience orb in Minecraft (He posted a super dark picture that was taken at night).

The bar is probably the sprint bar. It goes down when you sprint.

I'd be fine with the RAM usage, I never go past 1gb on minecraft, and I have about 6 idle at all times.

I think it would be best if it was a toggle option when creating the world, between the world name and the seed name.
