1.8 Updates: Taller Worlds, Delicious Foods

Jeb posted another teaser image, this one of a cooked chicken. While nothing was specified about it, there also appears to be a new mystery bar beneath the health track - what could it be?

Additionally - Notch appears to have been experimenting with map-height changes. He went on to say that while nothing definitive is planned, they are looking into possible map height restrictions in the future.

Finally - a new launcher is being tested! You can help test it here. Bear in mind, it is only launching Minecraft for the moment, but the stress-testing of the launcher will provide helpful data for Mojang, to further improve it!

Don't be mistaken. Experience orbs were confirmed, but Notch said himself that this was only a possiblity and might not be minecraft material, this means it is unlikely a experience bar. We do infact know that the armor bar needs a new spot now, and we know for a fact that a stamina is in 1.8(so it probably means stamina bar), so an exp bar just seems unlikely right now.

I bet that other bar is stamina for the sprinting that notch mentioned on twitter.

The bar below health is the sprint bar. The armour bar is not visible with no armour, remember? Also, please no sky dimension, Aether is BETTER.

Well, this is interesting.
But then so are all of these 1.8 snippets.

Taller maps are something I've very much wanted to see in the game for quite some time now. Not only does it allow for taller mountains but it implies canyons, chasms, and things like that; not only above ground, but also underwater.

Yup. This will certainly bring me back to Minecraft with gusto.

That bar under the health bar is probably the stamina bar for sprinting

cool i hope that's an xp bar and the other thing hunger but the xp i hope it will be account based because i think it would work better.

launcher was just a bit laggy, but no other thing changed, it still crashed after a while

I don't think the bottom bar is the stamina/sprint bar. I think this will be displayed in the same way as our oxygen level when we're underwater -- only when needed/sprinting.

My first guess when I saw that sectionned bar was that it was possibly an experience bar (since there will be an experience orb). Although I'm wondering where the armor would be displayed then...
