Notch recently revealed more information regarding the 1.8 Adventure Update. The following things have been confirmed for the update's release:
- NPC Villages
- Randomly generated dungeons
- New biome code
- Fully functioning Creative mode (with Creative-type access to server mods/admins)
- Critical hits
- Sprinting
- More farming options
- Brightness slider
He also mentioned that mod support was definitely being worked on, but that information on the update as a whole would be kept under a tight lid, to avoid revealing too many surprises.
We will continue to update the community as information becomes available.
is Awesome
And green light on Steve?
Hmmmm.
i thout of an idea what about putting health bars over mobs and other players heads so i would know how much left to hit it...
Okay, so then we can just remove the whole update, I guess. Yeah, if you are gonna complain, then its okay to remove the whole update.
NO. Complaining wont help, and this update will be epic.
Why so much angry?
plzz never put the "torche light when you're holding it in your hand" it will lagg the creeper out of minecraft.
Also, critical hits will make the game even more easy.
Questing and raiding wasn't at all mentioned in this OP though so right now we don't have to worry about that.
And besides, if there was questing and raiding on minecraft, I would like that. If I'm bored of always building and building, I can go to my local townspeople and ask to see if I can do anything for them. Go underground for a chest to find a quest-only item or collect and give a certain amount of things. Hell, join a raiding party and raze another village for stuff, rewards depending on how much was looted and how many members of your party survived. That would actually make minecraft more fun in my opinion.
