Today's Digital Diamond comes from youtuber davisd0909. He has created an absolutely astounding scrolling marquee that is capable of scrolling up to 15 characters across a display created entirely in Minecraft.

The contraption is insanely large, and appears to have taken countless hours to create. It's creations like this that show the true potential of Minecraft and the endless possibilities it provides creative minds.

Davis has also posted the schematics for the marquee on MCSchematics, for those of you who feel like digging into it.

Digital Diamonds is an ongoing look at Minecraft-related videos that have been submitted to the Minecraft forum video section. We'll be selecting memorable videos and those resonating with the community to share with everyone on the front page.

While I really do appreciate the time and brainpower it takes to do something like this, and it IS pretty cool, but what is it good for?It would be neat on a server to put up messages, but then again, if you aren't within a hundred blocks or whatever, you won't even see it.

I've seriously always been amazed by computers and things like this in minecraft. Not because they work (which is amazing in itself) but because having the dedication required to build such a thing is an achievement alone. Knowing your work will only amount to temporary fame is honorable.
