It's wednesday, my dudes! Todays snapshot marks The Village & Pillage update as, for the most part, feature complete. We're still planning to do a big polish pass, there may be some small features snuck in here or there, but ultimately it's bug fixing from here on out and we're
hoping for a release quite soon!
A full summary of the content available in this snapshot can be found in the changelog on Minecraft.net.
CHANGES IN 19W11A
- Lots of accessibility improvements!
- Added a new "Globe" banner pattern and item (Currently only accessible from commands or the creative inventory)
- Trading changes
- Added recipe for smithing and fletching table
- TNT and TNT minecart explosions now have 100% drop rate
ACCESSIBILITY
- There's a new Accessibility menu which provides a useful place for all of our accessibility features to be toggled
- When the narrator is turned on, buttons will be narrated on focus
- Most screens allow tab and shift+tab navigation through buttons, edit boxes and other UI elements
- Most lists allow up/down arrow keys to navigate through them
- We've added a new option for turning up the background of all transparent text elements, which should help make them more readable for some people
SMITHING TABLE AND FLETCHING TABLE
- Smithing table is crafted with 4 planks + 2 iron ingots
- Fletching table is crafted with 4 planks + 2 flint
- Villagers use them as a work site
- We've decided not to add the functionality for these blocks for this update as we want to make sure that they're useful for the overall gameplay. We have a great idea for them for the next major themed update...
TRADING CHANGES
- Lots of new trades have been added
- Villagers now level up in a new way
- The trading UI is updated (WIP)
- The trading prices now depend on your reputation and on demand
- The villagers will restock up to two times per day (if they can work at their work station!)
- Added visual trading; villagers will display the item they want to trade for your in-hand item
VILLAGER CHANGES
- Villagers now have a daily schedule. They will for example go to work and meet up at the village bell
- Each villager will try to find their own bed and work station
- Each profession has a specific block that works as a work station for them (e.g. lectern for the librarian and cauldron for the leatherworker)
- Village detection is now based on beds, job sites and meeting points instead of doors
- Iron golems will spawn when enough villagers meet
To get snapshots, open your launcher and go to the "launch options" tab. Check the box saying "Enable snapshots" and save. To switch between the snapshot and normal version, you can find a new dropdown menu next to the "Play" button. Back up your world first or run the game on in a different folder (In the "launch options" page).
Please report any and all bugs you find in Minecraft to bugs.mojang.com.
Snapshots can corrupt your world, please backup and/or run them in a different folder from your main worlds.

Great! Getting closer to a pre-release or full release!
>Makes useless blocks craftable.
>Block won't get functionality until 1.15.
(Head desk)
Those blocks are no longer totally useless, they help your villagers to feel at home - which I think is going to be important from now on.
Look at it this way - both of those blocks are about weaponsmithing, and they're saving them for the next update. Where they said they'd be more thematically appropriate for.
We might be getting some weapon/ammunition variety in the next update... perhaps a fix to combat as well.
Native Tinker's Construct? *bigthink*
they can be used in building...
Do villagers claim beds? I am building a village but don't want villagers stealing my bed!
i think its whatever bed is near them, or where they live
all is good news!
any body know the formula for the blocks at each work station?
Still no bells for animals? Pity. Maybe some more votes would help: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360042520571-Animals-with-bells
Can i reset villager job?
these are pretty exciting changes especially for requiring a functional village and not arbitrarily based on doors.
Hey I was wondering When will the so called "fox" update will Be in Minecraft PE
God damn it, these changelogs are too fun. I'm beyond disillusioned with the game and they keep showing me these cool things but I don't get to play with them because I know I'll just be angry at all the problems that have popped up since before now. Like yes, I want to open singleplayer to play with campfires and watch villagers act like they have a life, but I can't make myself do it in a game that blows up Creepers way too prematurely, lags my computer out much more than it should even after you've do the math, forces me to sleep all the time, doesn't let me listen to music without playing more than one track at the same time, and has the ugliest possible textures for wool (Minecraft 1.12). It's like having a pet dog who is slowly evolving into a blue heeler (you gotta pat that blue heeler man) but you're discouraged because ever since 2015 your pet dog has been covered in more and more coatings of suspicious slime. I feel like they're adding good features to a game I no longer like.
"it's bug fixing from here on out and we're

This does NOT bode well…
Particularly as code optimiation needs to follow bug fixing…
What does "TNT and TNT minecart explosions now have 100% drop rate" mean?
That no blocks or mob drops are destroyed in the explosions?
So one could use TNT to mine diamond ore with no loss of diamonds?
That bothers me more than it should but I really don't like the idea, it's WAY unrealistic.
Who cares if its unrealistic? It makes these things actually be useful now.
You think Minecraft is a realistic game?
Better game experience > Realism
Unrealistic? In a game you start out by punching trees, and where red cows grow mushrooms on their backs, and zombies, skeletons and creepers own the night, its the TNT drop rate change that makes you say whoa whoa whoa, this is just too unrealistic?
