It's that time of year again... You know the one, it happens every year in December and brings a tear to everybody's eye... That's right, it's the last major snapshot of the year! Todays snapshot brings us a lot of cool Village related features, and we're happy to finally get these out to you all before the year's up. We weren't able to finish everything we wanted, however, so we'll see you again soon in January with even more Village & Pillage features to help test! Have a great new year, everybody!

'Added taiga villages'?
Also, new stuff is nice, but has anything been done to tone down the Beast? It's way harder than the other illager mobs or any non-boss mob really, to the point I find it ridiculous that evokers only come at wave 10 but beasts at wave 2.
Hello,how are you ?
I want to play with you
Looks great! Getting closer to the 1.14 release.
yea . but entity spawn is very laggy still. need more optimisation
Exploring will be more interesting when every village you find looks completely new...
Also, will there REALLY be any point for furnaces after this? (I know there will be, but why use them?)
Furnaces will be cheaper and more generalized. I think they could reinforce this change by making the other furnaces worse at smelting things other than what they're made for.
I checked and they are actually unable to smelt items they aren't designed for. So furnaces still have a use if space is tight.
What are Jellie(s)?
Jellie, the cat.

Love all the new textures and features, especially the flowers. I really like where this snapshot is headed
after YEARS of just being there, Giants have an A.I.! is this possibly a hint they could be used in raids in a future snapshot and they couldn't finish in time?
Wave 11 of a raid would spawn a giant, the giant would have 210 health and be considered a mini boss. Wave 11 would be a rare occurrence if you kill 2 or more patrol captains. Giants mobs could drop some good loot like a 30% chance to drop an enchanted crossbow, 50% to drop a 4 by 4 block sized giant head, 1% to drop a new weapon, and 30 xp levels and 30 rotten flesh.
Wait, WHAT?! I need to check this out.
To be fair, it is just recycled zombie AI. Maybe they'll build off of it as a base, though?
I kinda wish they wouldn't leave the furnace in the game but add tiers to it. Tiers of crafting table are not really Minecraft-y. I like the separation of crafting recipes into different things, but I feel like they should get rid of the old crafting table and the old furnace if those become useless.
It's also just way too easy to craft the new tier from the old tier. As soon as you get 5 iron, you can go from a furnace to a blast furnace immediately. You can upgrade your food production the minute you have logs, i.e. before you get a furnace at all.
I think if there were other recipes the furnace was useful for, I'd be more ok with adding a new furnace tier.
Not a fan of them trying to fragment crafting more at all. Not being able to repair tools on the fly anymore without carrying around another block that you didn't need before that fills up another inventory space is more of a nuisance than an improvement. And these furnace upgrades are pathetically easy to get. What's the point in even having furnaces anymore?
The fact that the Furnace can still do both, but the "upgradeS" can only do one or the other?
It's not like there's any limit to how many blocks you can have. The furnace has no utility that these new blocks don't other than being easier to move around when traveling. A philosophy that would be fine in itself, but stands in total contradiction to needing a special crafting table to repair tools. It just seems to me like they were desperately stretching for content with splitting up the crafting.
