What's this? A spooky surprise 1.13.2 pre-release? We didn't even snapshot them! This is a very small pre-release to address a few performance issues and upgrade issues left over from 1.13.1. If all goes well with this pre-release, we will do the full release on Thursday. Don't worry though, snapshots for 1.14 will be starting really soon!

To get pre-releases, open your launcher and go to the "launch options" tab. Check the box saying "Enable snapshots" and save. To switch between the snapshot and normal version, you can find a new dropdown menu next to the "Play" button. Back up your world first or run the game on in a different folder (In the "launch options" page).
Please report any and all bugs you find in Minecraft to bugs.mojang.com.
Pre-releases can corrupt your world, please backup and/or run them in a different folder from your main worlds.

It is worth noting that MC-91621 is far older than indicated by the affected versions - pretty much any version of the game (even Alpha/Beta, if not earlier) with the current mob (de)spawning algorithm can be affected since it happens when mobs spawn more than 128 blocks from the player and immediately despawn, which will happen constantly when you are more than 128 blocks away from any water or land, with a theoretical maximum rate of 18,000 mobs per second for each of hostile, water, and ambient mobs (I inadvertently fixed this myself a couple years ago when I changed the mob despawn radius from a sphere to a cylinder for unrelated reasons, otherwise, I never noticed it since you must be high above the surface and older versions perform better).
Aside from that, "performance improvements" do not impress me when they need to improve performance by up to 1000% (10x faster) to offset the performance differences I saw with 1.13 and TMCW (e.g. startup and world generation time) - and that will certainly never happen with the current codebase (since 1.8), and when major releases are involved (e.g. 1.12 to 1.13) they always seem to translate to the opposite.
Improved Mob Spawning Performance interests me. I don't really want my builds getting destroyed by creepers but I really do feel like I am playing on peaceful sometimes. If I manage to get a charged creeper, there is usually nothing around to blow up! Only thing I have been getting attacked by are the phantoms which are rather annoying but I am glad they were added.
I want the scaffolding and Pandas!!! Once I see a couple more animals added I might go big and make a zoo.
Can I optimize Simplified Chinese? I think Mojang's Simplified is very swearing.

Now if MC-134969: Minecraft 1.13 Mob spawn rate (and all its relations) & MC-135502: Lighting is randomly broken (and all its relations) are fixed…
as well as the general lag and ore generation issues…
and clarifications made on matters such as MC-135660: Drowned can spawn any height in water without floor…

As to 1.14, I'd prefer if 1.13 was fixed before the latest set of bells and whistles and gongs and chimes was added…

Please get rid of phantoms. They are the most annoying mob you could have possibly added to the game. I would love to see this updated in a new update. And if not delete them from the game then at least give them a big nerf of when they spawn and how much damage they do. Its so hard to do anything outside on servers. And I can't sleep often due to how many there are on my server.
