There have been some preliminary tests for a Windows-based Minecraft launcher, and you can help test it out! What exactly is this launcher? Dinnerbone explains:
Quote from DinnerboneTechnically it's not a whole new launcher, it's just a native wrapping around what we have now. The ugly white loading screen at the start has gone, users no longer need to have Java installed (we'll maintain our own version of Java which we'll keep up to date and correct for your OS), and it should handle a whole bunch of failcases much better than before.
We will be creating this for both Windows and OSX, but we only have the Windows one for testing right now. We hope to get the OSX one for testing very early next year, which again will remove lots of current issues OSX users have getting the game (wrong java or no java). You'll notice I haven't said linux... we may or may not make a native one for linux later, we're just not sure if they need it. We're not dropping support for linux or anything crazy like that, they will still play fine as they do now.
A launcher without java dependencies is exciting indeed, eliminating many (if not all) java-based compatibility issues. Sweet!
A number of revisions have been made to the launcher, and it is ready for a new round of testing! If you would like to try it out yourself, you can get the launcher right here. If you have any feedback, bug reports, or anything at all you would like to say about the launcher, be sure to check out the launcher reddit thread!
EDIT: or where you being sarcastic and i didnt pick up on it
Key word: ported... Developers don't develop for OS X because typically they do it in D3D/DX. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what Microsoft did to Minecraft at some point, and future iterations will be ports for the Mac.
Not exactly, Mojang might be paid for by microsoft but is not exactly coded by microsoft, You see theres a dirffrence , Also we have glass panes for windows blocks XD and glass blocks. as long as mojang stays here it will be for all versions microsoft is not incharge of devices minecraft will be on mojang is in charge. Mojang says they will NOT drop other versions and only work on the pc version
Minecraft is a updated thing minecraft doesnt work like that, It will stay minecraft, Its the games that have levels that become 2,3,4s Not Sandbox, its like saying that i need a cheese 1 a cheese 2 and a cheese 3 on my sandwich, Sand boxes go on forever as long as the develoment team keeps up, Also microsoft is the owner of windows, But windows is a whole diffrent thing. Windows is NOT in charge, Microsoft is but micro soft is just hosting a better enviroment
Even if this is a troll, there are people that actually think like this, and will talk like this when the update comes out. so I'm sorry, I was letting off some steam.
That made me laugh more than it should have. XD
