Snapshot Double-Feature: 1.7.10 Pre-Release, 14w25a Ready for Testing!

Are you tired of getting one snapshot a week? Do you wish you could have more? You are in luck, for today, Mojang has released both a snapshot, and a pre-release! Twice the content for half the calories! Dinnerbone brings us this week's delectable morsels of Minecraft munchies, straight from the futuristic kitchen of Mojang!

The pre-release is relatively light, and mostly focused on Realms-specific content. However, the snapshot is loaded to the gills with goodies,

1.7.10 PRE-RELEASE (ALPHA 4)

This pre-release allows you to finally upload your own worlds to Realms, and adds an option to allow you to enable command-blocks on your own Realm. It also fixes some possible future-compatibility issues we discovered.

Hey, look, a snapshot! It has lots of cool new stuff. I’m not going to tell you what they are. Not even about the new sponge texture or the new hostile mob. Nope. Nuhuh. Won’t get any new information about the new underwater stuff from me! I will, however, tell you that this snapshot contains a few months worth of rewrites to some very important parts of the engine. It is very likely that this snapshot may be more unstable than usual, slower than usual, slightly more sentient than usual or just generally unusual. Please help us to fix all these issues by reporting anything you find to the bug tracker!

NOTABLE CHANGES

Added a new hostile mob.
Introduced Sponges to survival, with new behaviour and looks.
Added new scoreboard operations: "=", "<" and ">" - assign, min, max.

Badgers were removed from the game.
Rewrote how items are rendered.
Rewrote how blocks are rendered.
Rewrote how block data is handled.
Rewrote history. Toby isn’t real.

Wait a minute...what's with all this hidden content?! Can you find it? Do you know where to start looking? We will know soon enough...

To get snapshots, open your launcher and press the “New Profile” button. Call it “snapshots” and check the box saying “Enable experimental development snapshots” and save. To switch to the normal version, you can select it in the dropdown at the bottom left corner of the launcher. Back up your world first or run the game on in a different folder (See the “new profile” dialog).

Snapshots can corrupt your world, please backup and/or run them in a different folder from your main worlds.

-the water texture is bugged
-When you trow a potion has a u.t(Unknow texture)
-The guardian is a good new mob
-I love the dark prismarine and the sea lantern

I think that it's really cool that they are adding a new hostile mob to minecraft, I can't wait to see what it is

I definitelysaw the guardian ghost again, but it flashes away before you know it...Also there's this:

Besides prismarine shards, guardians may also drop raw fish.

This snapshot killed the game. I normally get 200+ fps with no lag spikes. I now get less than 50 fps with constant lag spikes to 0 fps.

This should not be happening.
Specs:
Intel Xeon Quad Core with 8 threads @ 4.0GHz
16GBs of Memory
GTX 550 TI

If anyone wants a quick water dungeon, beware you spawn underwater, be safe and do it in creative The seed is on one of the pictures along with the coordinates :

Decreased FPS near water dungeon (which looks amazing)
Guardian Bosses drop wet sponge (just 1 I think), raw fish, raw salmon, prismarine shards and prismarine crystals.
Regular Guardians drop all the above except the sponge.
Guardians do not drown in air.
Guardians out of water can jump up to 2 blocks at highest.
Guardians run away after being hit.
GUARDIANS HAVE THORNS ON THEM??? For 1 heart of damage.
Guardians hurt you for 3 hearts of damage with their beam attack. No armour. 1 heart will full diamond armour.
Guardians have 30 health. (15 hearts).
Guardians retract their spikes(??) After hitting you. Their beam attack seems to be more like. A laser pointer. Or something. They charge it up to hit you.
Guardians (&amp; Boss) don't get enraged but rather attack depending on line of sight and distance from them.
Guardians don't attack if their body of water is not large enough??
Guardians don't burn in lava?? The hell?? Also. They don't burn at all.
Guardian bosses
Using a splash potion of harming on a guardian crashed my game.
Sea Lanterns are transparent blocks (ie levers can not be placed on them
SEA LANTERNS HAVE AN ANIMATED TEXTURE
Prismarine can be made with Prismarine shards in a 2x2 fashion.
Prismarine bricks can be made with Prismarine shards in a 3x3 fashion.
EFFICIENCY NOW GOES UP TO V (5)
Player burning animation missing.

If someone wants to (test &) upload this information to the wiki that'd be great.

EDIT: OH! Also. I had air pockets above my temple. Also. My temple/dungeon cut through some gravel & stone showing away the inside of said stone/gravel hill.
