agreed. But no atmosphere level. Making the conditions the way they are sounds annoying and frivolous. Doubling the hight in sky blocks will alone suffice. I don't like this ugly mantle idea, a bunch of lava sounds boring, and you would have to eventually have to end the lava and put down bedrock, so its a bit unnecessary.
I would like to be able to say better about them, but everything was too dark, I couldn't see anything, and my screen is bright. On my old screen, I would just see all blackness.
1.Please add glowstone to the watermaze
2.provide a walkaround for the darkmaze
3.stop the waterflow in the glass maze, I would drown before I even got started(cool concept)
I liked it all a lot, you made them well, but I just quit becuase I couldn't see anything at all without messing with my screen settings. You have inspired me btw.
many people think achievements suck, many seek them out and try to %100 percent games(the premise behind achievement systems). This being said, if you don't like achievements, then you can just leave, this is for fun, and to try to help give survival some sort of interesting distractions.
So, I will make achievements for myself, and award them certain points, please don't tell me to remove achievements, but I would love to add interesting new ones. So, I will be updating what I think up as achievements, so don't assume you have all my achievements(if you decide to follow them). Points for achievements may change.
Rules:
1.All achievements must be done on Hard mode, that is how I am counting them.
2.If you want to get the achievements, start a new game save file
3.some achievements may require special conditions, if they involve playing aanothernew save file, you can continue playing on either save file.
4.No mods,no help. Using amod that benefits you won't count. Also, ifyou do this on a server, no one can help you find what you need, help build, or anything else that would take the responsibility off of you if you attempt any achievements.
Easy achievements:
The sheep sheerer: Collect 64 blocks of wool
Look Mommy!:build a house with a door, and at least one torch before night time using nothing but material gathered within one day/night cycle.
Suited up: Make a full set of armor and a sword of any materials
Shut up Navi: kill 50 mobs that won't shut up(cows, sheep, zombies, ghasts, spiders)
Industrious: build a workbench and a furnace
Pretty: download and use a new texture pack for at least 1/1000000000 milliseconds. :tongue.gif:
I think I can:Live for at least 2 day night cycles.
toolkit:build all 4 tools(hatchet, pickaxe, shovel, hoe) out of stone or better(including gold).
furnished: Build a painting
Ore:mine and smelt 1 piece of iron
Offensive:Kill one aggressive mob
I can see: make 64 glass blocks
builder: create a building, or multiple buildings that are 100 square meters(100 blocks of floor space)
My address is:build a sign and use it to label one structure.
Bread winner: bring home 10 loaves of bread and 10 pieces of ham or fish.
Finally:find clay
Normal achievements:
make a farm house/room that safely grows at least 20 wheat without dangerous mobs or neutral mobs trampling them.
Upgraded:build all 4 tools out of steel or higher(including gold)
mine mine mine: Find 32 iron and 128 coal
Exploratory report:find an extensive cave system for these next ones:
-1.kill 5 mobs without returning to the surface to restock
-2.find a block of gold ore.
extravagant: build a fortress or extend your home to have a nighttime safe courtyard and 2 lookout posts.
botany:find 30 red flowers and 30 yellow flowers
True chef:make a bowl of mushroom stew
defences up: build a bow and some arrows.
treasure:find a dungeon, kill all the mobs inside and collect the loot you want.
Finally 2:find a diamond block and collect it
automatron: use a lever, pressure pad, or button to control a door or other device.
redstone novice: use redstone to power a device
I like your...:10 or more creepers and make at least one block of TNT and then use it
Been there done that: reach the hight limit, and reach a block of admium(the stuff at the bottom of a map that you can't break)
literacy:build a bookshelf block
Hard achievements:
I'm scared: build a gateway to the nether realm and enter the nether.
Dominator:find a dungeon and build a mob killing machine
Slime hunter:find and kill a dangerous slime(you don't have to kill the little ones, they are harmless and the slime protection people wouldn't be able to get this one.)
Transit: Use a boat, the nether, minecarts or any combo to travel from one established building to another. Must be at least 150 blocks away(in non-nether distance). For the boat you must build a horizontal transport, the water must be able to carry you with its current alone. The nether path must be %100 protected from ghasts.
redstone Tech: use redstone to work a double door properly attached to a button lever or pressure pad.
Nether sheriff: kill one ghast and one pigman zombie and return to a safe area you built outside the nether without dying.
survivor: survive a night away from home wihtout dying.(you must stay on land)
A taste of their own medicine: by any means, kill a creeper with TNT.
Rare fight: find a spider riding skeleton, killing it not necessary.
Rare drop: find a record from a creeper:
Rare blocks: own a gold block, mossy cobblestone, iron block, brick block, obsidian block, glowstone block and a pumpkin/jack'o lanturn all at the same time.
Rare treasure: own an apple and a pig saddle at the same time.
Hardcore:
These can be counted as a whole new set, I know I wouldn't force anyone to do them just to get a %100, so these are extra for the avid player.
Wild side:survive a night on land, without dying and without food and without diamond armor
Creeper carouser: kill 5 creepers without food, armor, or a bow and arrows. Stone sword, gold sword or wood sword only.
traveling master: using the nether, build a minecart system with boosters that will let you travel easily from one portal to another without threat from ghasts. Must extend at least 100 tracks in nether.
flubber king: dig down and make a room deep enough for slimes to spawn, make sure the room is well lit. Let 3 slimes spawn, and break them down to at least the harmless form without dying and with less than a diamond sword and no gold apples or mushroom stew. Drowning them is not allowed.
Craft master: own one of every single item possible to own. If you are a slime lover, the slime ball is exempt.
Building king: Own a farm for every type of good, reeds, cactus and wheat. Have a flower garden/tree grove and a large home/castle/whatever floats your boat. Own an underwater home that has room for you, a crafting table, furnace, and must be 2 rooms totaling 150 blocks of flooring. Home must have at least 10 rooms, 3 stories, a basement, and have safe travel to all your farms. Furnish your house with stone or wood floors, and cielings at least 5 meters high and have 15 paintings. Then build a manueverable structure from the bedrock/admium to the map height limit and be able to go from top to bottom.
blockman vs block wild: start a new map and survive 10 minecraft days without using any food, and without any safe structure(open doorway 2x2 in any rooms and no roofs). Max number of torches 10.
I was thinking more along the lines of maybe, for one day the frequency of rare events like spider riding skeletons and mushrooms be increased for new save files for the day, just an example. But having a hat slot for heads would be a great idea too! Should be simple enough :\
Minecraft's developer has told us that soon the 1,000,000 th copy of minecraft will be sold soon. He made it known that he wants to do something special, so what should it be? This is the time to give him some good places to think of an idea, or to take an idea entirely. I ask that you think of something that is non-content, because that just means he would keep doing his job, nothing special about that. So try to come up with something innovative, like a special texture pack, or something like that.
I have no ideas myself, but I am sure some of you do:
fyi, only the server operator can add you at any moment. To be added as a member by admins, you have to be on the server while they are. Hope this clears things up. Our server owner is currently on vacation.
hey guys, if you want to play on our creative map, we have a thread for creative as well. Here is the link to that thread. I maintain that thread. Click here for our creative server thread
so, I've never seen a game go from alpha to beta, is this usually how it goes(I wasn't expecting halloween v2)? I also don't appreciate trolls btw :smile.gif:
I just thought that maybe going from one phase to the next would be more spectacular in the sense that a new mode would be added that had a more goal related purpose, like a story mode, or a mode with a definite end to it. So far we have no such mode. So, I figured it had to do with more money to fuel the guys who code the game. I am excited to see more than Notch, so I expect Beta to go well.
I am not going to nerd rage about the recent version because to me, its just another patch, and I got the game cheap and enjoy the multiplayer aspect a lot.
So here is what my question is:What merits this recent update to be beta?
I see no good reason for the game to be given such a huge step because of this recent patch(bugs aside). In fact, Notch has done more meaningful updates in the past. I assumed the beta patch would include a new mode other than survival or creative. I also thought he would have made HD textures fixed so that they aren't goofy, and maybe a bit more work on multiplayer. But it seems like we haven't got any of that yet. Instead he is working on leaves(which IMO is the biggest waste of time). I can only guess that Notch needed to put it into beta because he now has to pay people, and pay rent on his new office, so more financial, than technical. Still, that seems like a poor reason, especially since the beta is off to a horrible start. I just don't like weekly changes, that means I have to wait for plugins to be updated again, and that gets annoying. I just wish he would do big updates, far apart so I can enjoy the game without worrying about the constant updates. Oh well, I just sought to find the answer to why the beta now. Anyone think they know?
