Built on a private server hosted by my friends and I, Tiefenaphel City has undergone much transformation over the past 4 years. As we finally draw a close to to our Minecrafting adventures, we present to you our hard work and effort over the ages (Damn I sound old)
Isn't this the golden city from before? Guess you guys decided to give it a better name Visited the server once, it was truly awe-inspiring and I'm still using your builds as reference to this day!
I think you should change texture pack. The similarities between the cobblestone texture and smoothstone is so little that both of them look the same from afar, turning the walls into one uniform shade of gray (other than the stonebrick)
My friends and I made an Arabian city called Variabople (twist on Constantinople) for our pvp needs. The city buildings are all parkour-friendly and each district can serve as an arena for the fight.

Alcohol provides no real use though. Its not that filling and it leaves after effects such as drunkenness and hangovers. And since you cant taste it in Minecraft, theres no real point. Its like adding drinkable water to Minecraft but no thirst bar.
Everyone should stop assuming that Minecraft timeline = Real life timeline. Yes. EVERYONE, MEDIEVAL SUPPORTERS OR NOT!
How can you assume that just because Minecraft has dirt, cobble, stone, diamond, swords, bows, tnt and every other "realistic" stuff, the world of Minecraft develops in the same way as our world?
Those who call Minecraft "medieval" or "victorian" etc. are not historians of the Minecraft world. Theres no Queen Victoria in Minecraft, neither are there knights or princesses. The world of Minecraft is so different from our world, yet we use our world as the basis for judging it?
People who want electricity, nuclear reactors, robots, lasers, vehicles, etc. to be added to vanilla Minecraft, I have the same arguement. You cannot assume that the technology in Minecraft will develop in the same way as our own world. Redstone technology has already developed into ways unimaginable in our own world. Why replicate our technology when they have their own (and often more superior) tech. Yes, there is science. But it is not science as we know it.
Minecraft does have a single genre, but it is a genre of its own. It combines elements from multiple genres into a single genre. You cannot claim the game is entirely medieval or fantasy or sci-fi because it has elements from the others, combined into the game beta of a game we know today
TL:DR
We call it magic, Steve calls it science
We call it science, Steve calls it magic
Stop confusing the two
