I need to know the names of all the new flowers, because I can't seem to find them in my minecraft.jar. Can anyone help me?

Every new double-tall flower starts with the prefix "double_plant," so... -
    • _fern_bottom/top.png
    • _grass_bottom/top.png
    • _paeonia_bottom/top.png (called Peony in-game.)
    • _rose_bottom/top.png (called Rose Bush in-game.)
    • _sunflower_back/front.png (This is the actual sunflower part, at the top. Haha.)
    • _sunflower_bottom/top.png (the stem of the sunflower.)
    • _syringa_bottom/top.png (called Lilac in-game)

Other new flowers (these have the prefix "flower"):
    • _allium.png (pink flower)
    • _blue_orchid.png
    • _dandelion.png (this should already be your "yellow flower." If the name doesn't match, change it to this, haha.)
    • _houstonia.png (called Azure Bluet in-game.)
    • _oxeye_daisy.png
    • _tulip_orange/red/pink/white.png

That's all the new flowers! Need the filenames of any other new 1.7 stuff? Lemme know. ^_^

So, one thing that's always bugged me about snapshots is you really have to search for what new textures are added, especially when new biomes are added. So, I thought I'd do my community service for the day and make a list of all the filenames for the new textures.

NOTE: The new flowers can be turned into dyes corresponding to their color! I'll list them below but keep that in mind while texturing them!. ^_^

    New to the /blocks/ folder:
    • dirt_podzol_side - This is what weird looking grass that shows up in Redwood Forests (coded into the game as "Mega-Taiga"). The default texture has a mucky green/brown, almost mossy cover look to it. So y'know, frame of reference, haha.
    • dirt_podzol_top - Top of the new "Podzol," or "pinestraw"as people are calling it. It doesn't have an official, in-game name yet, haha.
    • doublePlant_fern_bottom/doublePlant_fern_top - New Double Ferns! You can use Bone Meal on Ferns, Tallgrass, and certain flowers, and make larger versions of them! From there, using Bone Meal on the double flowers will drop a flower without you having to break it, making flowers farmable in this sense. Haha, unintended feature? Idk. XD
    • doublePlant_grass_bottom/doublePlant_grass_top - New Double Tallgrass! Good for large African-styled hedges, or maybe cornfields. Idk, your choice. :P
    • doublePlant_paeonia_bottom/doublePlant_paeonia_top - This is the large version of the Paeonia, which is a pink flower.
    • doublePlant_rose_bottom/doublePlant_rose_top
    • doublePlant_sunflower_back/doublePlant_sunflower_front - This is the top part of the Sunflower, the actual flower itself. NOTE: The Sunflower front texture gets rendered upside down.
    • doublePlant_sunflower_bottom/doublePlant_sunflower_top - Just the stalk.
    • doublePlant_syringa_bottom/doublePlant_syringa_top - Known ingame as Lilacs.
    • flower_allium - Gives 1 Magenta Dye.
    • flower_blue_orchid 1 Light Blue Dye.
    • flower_houstonia - Known ingame as "Azue Bluet." Gives 1 Light Gray Dye.
    • flower_oxeye_daisy - Can also be made into Light Gray Dye.
    • flower_paeonia - Yeilds 1 Pink Dye.
    • flower_tulip_orange/flower_tulip_pink/flower_tulip_red/flower_tulip_white - Gives Orange, Pink, Red, and Light Gray dyes, respectively.
    • ice_packed - Opague version of Ice. Doesn't melt, doesn't turn into water when broken.

    New in the /gui/ folder:
    • resouce_packs - The arrows used for the new Resource Pack selection screen. Here's a link to the .png file, because the way the arrows are mapped to the image is a little funky, haha.

    New to the /items/ folder:
    • fish_clownfish_raw - There isn't a cooked variant for this; it's just a clownfish, hahaha. XD
    • fish_cod_raw/fish_cod_cooked - The default fish textures have been renamed to these, respectively. What gets me, though, is ingame they're still just called "Fish." Haha. XD
    • fish_pufferfish_raw - The pufferfish can be used to brew Water Breathing potions! I don't recommend eating a Pufferfish ingame, it gives you Nausea III, Poison IV, and Hunger II (or something like that, I didn't actually test this. Heard it through word-of-mouth... word-of-text? Same thing, haha.).
    • fish_salmon_raw/fish_salmon_cooked - Salmon is the only new fish that can be cooked. Weird. XD

That's everything, folks! Oh boy, I'm gonna have fun texturing all this!... Y'know, once I get back into the flow of school, which started for me today. Woot!... >.>

Anyways, hope this helps everyone out! :D

    I need some opinions here...

I want to redo my Nether Brick, because it's honestly not on-par with the rest of my textures. I've composed a few concepts for what I wanna do, but I'm unsure of which one to do.

First up, purple stone with wooden bracing:

I think this looks good, and it would have CTM to get the effect I so desire. But, when put next to my netherrack (which you'll see in a moment) the purple and the orange-ish color clash in a way I don't really like.

So! With that, my next idea was "reinforced Netherrack," instead of Nether Brick.

This looks cool too, and would also have proper CTM, but... I don't know. The Orange-ish color of the netherrack looks good with the brown colors of the wood, but would it be to monotonous having a Nether Fortress be simply Netherrack reinforced into shape?

Maybe I'm going the completely wrong way with this... I don't know.

Oh, members of the TAU, please help! lol

Hey Mini! It's ZH, ahahaha. I meant to apply as a builder here earlier, but for some reason I just never got to it. :P

I'm working on an adventure map of my own, but I'm running dry with ideas for that at the moment, and so I thought I'd switch gears and help YOU, so get my creative juices flowin' again! ^_^

    Anyways, application time:

    ----

What is your IGN?: zeldahuman (all lowercase)

Architecture, or Terraforming?: Both, honestly. I'd prefer Architecture, though.

+ Architecture - Types of Builds?: Medieval, Steampunk, and Modernish, lol. (I usually prefer medieval/steampunk, because of the amount of detail that goes into it.)

+ Terraforming - Types of Landscape?: I'm pretty good with mountains... and rivers... well, anything really. :P

Do you know how to use MCEdit?: Duh.

    Other Mods?: WorldPainter, WorldEdit, VoxelSniper.

Building Capacity?: I can build whole levels.

    ------

Below is a link to an Imgur gallery of some builds I've done:

    Imgur Gallery - http://imgur.com/a/1VLHW

    ------

Unfortunately, I don't ever take pics of the things I build, and I usually build on friends' servers, friends of which reset their maps frequently. So... the amount of good images is lackluster. I can assure you, though... I'm not a hoax. XD

But anyway, I tried my best to get pics of some of the cool things I've built. Hopefully it's enough, and if it isn't, I'll try to find pics of more things I've built. ^_^

Also, just as an added bonus: I'm really good with redstone. ;)

    Thanks Mini!

Today I bring you; NEW SANDSTONE!

Normal Sandstone has been revamped, and now differentiates from it's original "Stone Brick" look entirely! I went with smaller brick sizes, simply because it looks better. CTM'd also!

Carved (Glyph) Sandstone has been redone to match the new Sandstone, and with it comes horizontal CTM with random variants to the middle texture.

Smooth Sandstone takes the shape of pillars, with an etching carved up it's sides.

The bottoms of Sandstone have been completely redone, resembling cracked stone. CTM included!

    In-game look:

Also, in my livestream last night I made a new spawner and a new cauldron. Then offcamera I made a new cactus and hopper!
Next post will have pictures as it's late and I'm trying to post this quickly so I can get my butt to bed, haha.

    That's all folks!

Ooh, that's nice. I'm working on a modern-ish pack myself, and using the coal block for asphault roadwork is a good idea.

The only thing with the CTM, though, is there's no good way to make the yellow lines that go through the middle, without messing up the rest of the CTM... I tried it and it came out pretty crappy... Haha. Stickin' to just white lines around the outside though looks nice. Just a little bit of a heads up for ya there. :)

    Quote from Dracyoshi

Really nice CTM wool. I may do something like that with mine.
It looks quite similar to a rug in my house!

CTM can look amazing when done right, and you're doing it right.

    Why, thank you! :)

My only question to you, though, is should I make the CTM for the Orange, Yellow, and Green carpets complete CTM? As it is right now, if you try to do anything other than a square, this happens:

So, yeah... Thinki I should do the full CTM sheet? :P

    Quote from Visual_Argonian

    Thanks :3
I'm sure I can cobble together some better, less SB colours, and show 'em off again (along with a few more I've made)
Besides, you, Sheep and Peyton have always been my texturing inspiration ;3

Y'know, it actually makes me happy knowing I'm an inspiration to someone... that sounds like I'm tooting my own horn, but I mean really... I just feel, I don't know... accomplished. :')

Anyway, yes, I do believe less SB colors would be ideal. Go for it, pal. :)

    ----

Anyway! 'Nother Imgur Gallery, this time with the Redstone Mechanic-y stuff! Enjoy! :D

EDIT:: Crap, I forgot to put in the randomized pressure plates, and randomized Daylight Sensor... oh well, you'll see them soon enough. :P
