I bought this computer a few months ago. A few days ago, it started having an issue where some white lines would flash across my screen (small portion) Its only happening in the top right of my screen. It would like bug out and come back a few seconds latr (it never stops) and I was wondering what the problem is? Its not screen tearing because im not playing any computer-intensive games. im just sitting on my desktop and it keeps happening. I tried taking screen shot of it but it won't show up in the screenshot.

My monitor is also pretty old. Could that be the problem?

So, during pax, their was a panel for mojang. They had some questions answered. One that interested me the most, is that someone said that they were working on making minecraft work your gpu a little more so it relieves the "stress" from the cpu. Or something like that, anyway. Someone explain? Oh and sorry if I got the story a little wrong, only listened to it once

About myself: I have been playing minecraft since alpha, at recently started playing this "Tekkit" that everyone was talking about.

Lets see here.

Admins post: Great server, blah blah blah, check us out.
User who actually joins: Experiences the server for himself/herself, thinks its terrible along with other people.

What i'm saying is that an admin may say they have a great server, but when a user joins a actually experiences the server from a user's perspective, the admin could be totaly wrong.
