Anyone here I'd recommend checking out replay mod. It is supported and runs way better in terms of performance etc. and is developed by the same creator.

Hey matt! I recently saw that you switched from sellfy to gumroad and was wondering if people who purchased on sellfy still get all updates.

LOOKS AMAZING. However is it just me or does the sound of your own footsteps favor the right ear? Idk why. Nevermind, I believe it was a bug in my headset.

For now I have an i7 6700K clocked at 4.4, 32GB DDR4 2400, and a 1080. Water cooled. I'll soon switch to a different setup though.
Anyway, a 970 is no joke for now, you should get great performances! What's your display resolution? Also check your settings.
I'm trying to fix the Help section with some tips for performance optimization, btw.
I have the same exact rig except my ram is 16gb and 3200mb. What type of radiator do you have?

That's also something I'm thinking about, though I'll need someone who's capable of coding a launcher.
If anyone knows someone who can code, just contact me: we can team up for that.
If the projects turns out well, there'll be a reward for the coder, of course.
I would really like to make available a brand new launcher, with an integrated store for everything.
This way, players can have one safe place to get their mods, while creators can have control of their own content, and get support by making their content available within the launcher.
An adfly-like revenue system could be a solution: you push the download button, an safe advertisement is shown for 5 seconds. After that, the content is already available in the game.
Once a texture pack is added to the launcher and the game starts, the launcher will load the pack in the RAM.
One problem with loading things in the ram is if you have too little how will people use some premium resource packs. I know most people using your pack have decent pcs but others might not. Though I am sure resourcepacks don't take up too much space, I have seen some couple hundred mb ones and with enough of those it could overload your pc. Unless of course you were thinking of a select one basis.

I am a college student majoring in Computer Science, this major has concentrations (things you can focus in), and one of those concentrations is Information Security.
Things that involve DRM, especially with something has hard to secure as a Resource Pack, naturally peak my interest due to what I am studying.
I honestly think the best way to prevent piracy is having a separate launcher that can download resourcepacks without giving the user access to it. Like a downloader that applies the r-pack/mod in your mc install and on exit it removes the file.

That is false. I get easily around 80 fps with a regular 1080 at 1920p and around 30-40 at 4k

To be sincere, I would prefer people to really understand what's the wrong with illegally redistributing other's people work.
Some people just seem so proud of themselves while screwing other's people work, though.
Like if prevent young creators to benefit from their creative work is going to save humanity from some kind of injustice.
No surprise that talented and skilled artist end up migrating to other, more mature communities.
That is because most of these leakers think they own the world and can have everything handed to them. They think they are hidden by the internet. The only way they can learn is by them leaking the wrong stuff and being arrested for their actions.

It wouldn't be a 100% solution but maybe he could have a custom download page where each unique user had a unique id assigned to their ip and it would write it down inside of the resource pack itself (in the form of a hidden texture etc.) which the author can not only remove the download link from others through a request but could see who leaked it and terminate their download due to breaking the tos to further prevent future updates from being leaked by the guy.
Ofc all ips would be encrypted and not available to the author even

Being impatient for new features and releases is absolutely normal: it happens to me as well.
I can't wait for new features being added to the products I love and support.
I think being impatient for updates is a good thing: it means we care about the product, and want more of it. I can understand that.
On the other side, as a creator, I understand the time and effort it takes to release new updates.
But more importantly, who knows what's going on in the life of other people? I don't, and I often forget that.
Here on the net, we can't see who is behind that product we appreciate.
I often forget that there are humans behind the internet.
The thing is: I would be really happy to release a new update. In fact, I'm working on a new mapping, since it's so ugly in 07 (due to previous hardware limitations of mine).
But we have a problem.
Some people are redistributing the full pack without permission, which is of course illegal, but there's more than that.
It's not a matter of laws and such. It's irrespectful. I'll write you a letter about that topic, in hope that those people stop that and explain me why they act like so.
Working on something knowing that people are going to throw it away like they are entiotled to it, like they don't really care, is sad to me.
Some people complain about the pack costing money. Like, about the cost of a coke.
To put things in perspective, the software I'm using for the new mapping costs 100€.
Photoshop, another tool I use, costs about 120€ per year. Throw in internet, about 360€ per year, and elecricity, hosting, domain, and of course the computer (I will skip that cost), and well, if you're smart enough, you got the point.
Did I mention it takes time I won't get back?
So, that's why is so sad to me that some people act like "oh, I paid a buck for that pack, so here you have it, let's not support the creator".
I am sorry for the spam on your forum matteo. Also I have some ideas for piracy protection for your resourcepack

I am not seeing why you guys have an impression that I am steaming/angry. Also just saying the pure words... "an update would be nice" is not good. You don't tell him what to add. If he should update to 1.9. No helpful criticism or suggestions. The only words are update it. Also all I said was be patient hence my wording chill and if you couldn't contextualize my comment, then I am sorry for my wording. However, if you did understand my wording, if asking someone being patient means for another to continually criticize someone's comments with things like chill than you guys need to learn patience. I don't supposed you guys have any idea how long it takes to create one texture or, in this case many, so asking someone so ambiguously to update doesn't do anything helpful.

Nothing just that it is so annoying when everyone wants so much for him. A few dollars here and there isn't enough to make a living man so of course there are priorities.
