Just a suggestion, and forgive me if this has been mentioned, but could you take out the creepers that aren't working yet and release an updated (1.6.4) version without them? That we people can love your awesome mod and just wait for an update for it to get awesomer . Also, if people are playing with the mod, then people could (hopefully) help you figure out where things are going wrong so it would be easier on you. I understand about the time constraints though, so no pressure.
Yeah, the main problem is lack of motivation for me as opposed to time. Right now I have plenty of spare time where I could be developing this but instead I much prefer to load up DotA 2 to have a game. There doesn't seem to be too much demand for this mod, my inbox used to be spammed constantly with people asking for it to be in modpacks. When I do update I get the tinyest spike in downloads then it drops really low again. I'll still push an update, but right now I don't have much reason to get it out fast. Maybe if people donated, or did decent showcases, just proved to me that there is demand, then I would probably be more motivated.

Please update for 1.6.2/1.6.4, I missed out on this mod and I feel bad about it. Also what about water, lava, nuke and projectile Creepers?
Water and lava creepers exist, lava is so mean that they only live in the nether. Nuke creepers are too mean as well, and overdone in mods too much. Not sure what you mean by projectile creepers, I guess you mean shoot arrows/snowballs/some other projectile in various directions?
EDIT: also forgot to mention, in my previous posts I have stated that a 1.6.X update is being actively worked on. Friendly creepers are looking pretty good so far but need more testing. Other creepers are unexpectedly broken right now though, electric (definitely don't know about this right now) and psychic (shouldn't be hard to fix this one). The fake illusion creepers are fixed from their last "falling into the ground" bug it seems. Can't seem to get the friendly creeper spawn rate in super flat down to an acceptable level for some reason. There is still a lot to do and I do have other work, but I'll keep trying to get an update out

I think there should be a creeper that explodes out mobs, or one that poisons you, or one that does not kill you but takes your stuff and knocks you back. Just some suggestions
The spider creeper poisons you and places webs around. The psychic creeper knocks you back but it doesn't take items
Oct 3, 2013Update from dev again: At uni now! Free time (at the moment) is drastically increased since as you could probably guess I don't need to cover the programming material much. Setting up dev environments as I type this and I'll try to push out an update within the upcoming weeks. I know there is a demand for this mod, and sometimes it has just felt like a chore, but my java skills are getting rusty and that's the bulk of my computer science course. This will become more of a project for me to keep way ahead of everyone elsePosted in: Minecraft Mods
Keep giving me ideas for these creepers, I've seen a few I've liked and hopefully the next update can be a biggy. A lot of ideas, with my current creeper code-base, would be really quite simple to implement. The random creeper idea is a favourite and I will definitely try getting one of those in (never tried switching models dynamically in minecraft, I'm hoping it doesn't cause yet more bugs).
EDIT: Starting an update right now during a lecture and it seems that yet again the entity code base has been brutally murdered with a whole new attribute redesign that will require huge amounts of changes and hacks in things like friendly creepers, especially since they're already a hack between evil mobs and tameable friendlies. It may become another update where I temporarily remove friendly creepers due to bugs/time limitations.

Looks like this mod will remain untouched again for awhile. The author of this mod claimed he would try to keep this mod updated, but as of now, it seems that this mod will probably come to an end soon for the lacks of the author's interest in updating. There are already news about 1.7 already, so I suppose we can give the author the benefit of the doubt that he is actually waiting for MC to update to 1.7, hopefully. I wish Lomeil would re-update this mod again for us users though.
I've been debating an update for a long time, the interest is definitely here for an update but whenever I do I don't actually see much of an increase in downloads at all and it leaves me wondering if it's worth it. I'm currently working 9-5:30 every weekday and away every other weekend, with 3 out of 5 evenings a week busy, so just finding free time itself is hard. Convincing myself that spending the little free time I have updating this mod when the minecraft source has caused me so much trouble is damn near impossible atm. I mean, the most recent bugs are creepers falling into the ground, but only certain kinds of creepers. To me this seems physically impossible, because the implementation of different creepers differs only in 1 method overloaded from a base EntityElementalCreeper class which is only ever called upon explosion (and also a texture variable, but that means nothing either). I spent a large amount of time trying to get it fixed, along with other things like the friendly creepers spawn rate (setting spawn to 1, and max spawn per chunks to 1 still allows them to spawn like crazy in superflat). I even hacked in an axis-aligned bounding box check in the canSpawnHere method which seemed to do ok for superflat but finding them in normal maps because impossible. When I go to university in about a month, I'm going to be able to skip just about all of my first year computer science lectures so should hopefully have a decent amount of time to continue this mod. For now, I'm probably going to get a bare minimum update done just to get it to the latest version and ignore bugs not easily fixed. Sorry about the lack of information, I have been pretty much completely disinterested in minecraft for a long time (at least the single player, I've been playing some MC survival games recently).

How can I fix the Psychic creeper? Because he doesn't launch me. Only other mobs
Not be in creative mode

Is there any chance you could make them affected by the mob griefing gamerule because it can be very annoying when a large chunk of landscaping you have spent so long meticulously terraforming by hand gets flipped in an instant by a reverse creeper retaliating to an iron golem despite the fact you have mob griefing set to false. Also i'm fairly sure iron golems shouldn't attack creepers anyway.
Probably coming in next patch

Friendly creepers are spawning way too much, even if I have the spawn rate set to 1.
They fill up my map within minutes. :/
I've reduced tons of spawning values since I was testing on superflat but I can't seem to get it reduced. Minecraft ed with a ton of things and now they just spawn like crazy even with a max spawned per chunk and a low rate.

Okay, I got this for 1.5 a few days back, and all elemental creepers (not vannilla creeper) sank through the ground and started "swimming" around looking like sharks! Kinda scary, but then they ignored me and everything else. (also they fell just a little more than one block, tested) I have no idea if you fixed this, but I thought you should know.
Strange, I've experienced this but only with the fake copies of illusion creepers. They seem to pop back up after a little bit too

Just spent ages looking at this, and I'm stumped. The creepers themselves are identical to every other basic explosion effect elemental bar the effect itself. I missed an initCreature when spawning them but that doesn't make a difference. They seem to fix themselves after a little while. Other than that I've got absolutely no clue wtf is going on.

I updated to the patch v 3.2.1 and I got swarmed by friendly creepers. What value in the config file reduces their spawn rate? High or low?
Quote from blades55
For me all of the creepers blow up with no effects
Never heard of this glitch before, can't seem to recreate it either. Can you confirm if this is true for all of them excluding the friendly creeper?

Shouldn't be hard to fix, I'll try to push an update tonight.

I just downloaded this and I found a bug with the Friendly Creepers. Maybe it's just with my game, but I can't seem to tame them, hit them, or interact with them whatsoever. They don't walk on land, they somehow float through the ground and bob up and down. I took some screenshots:They spawn in great numbers and bob up and down, hardly visible.Do you know what's going on? My minecraft version is 1.5.1 and I downloaded the correct Elemental Creepers version for it (in fact I've been waiting so long to try this out, but I never had the chance because Minecraft kept coming out with new updates!) and my Forge is up-to-date. Please help? I was so excited about this mod!
Oh what, this glitch again! FFS I had to do a re-write for 1.5 to get it working. I'll see what I can do, I have 50 minutes now

I would really like that, thank you. I had been meaning to ask you something like that for a while but I never wanted to make a curse account.
Option added in 1.5.1 now
Mar 23, 2013Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from DeathDealer7193
I'd like to replace the vanilla creepers in the minecraft.jar with another type of creeper from this mod or remove them entirely. Where are the class files and other things related to creepers in the .jar?
You can't remove them nicely without modifying code, since deleting/renaming files will stop java loading classes and error and crash in a huge fire which blows up your pc. I could add a config option in my mod to disable the spawn of normal creepers if you like. that'll be in the 1.5.1 patch coming tomorrow
