I'm sure this has come up, and I'm sorry for the redundancy if it has, but why does the 1.8.0 version not support connected textures? And is this indicative of future updates? Because my server has an awesome RP that uses connected textures, and I have to choose that over the shaders mod at the moment because of this, but the two compliment each other extremely well.
@Monsterfish_ I feel like you and I are on the same exact wavelength, unless I posted an image of the stairs I did a while ago (I honestly can't remember). I made metadata for the stairs for 6 different stained clay textures that were mapped to nearly the exact same blocks as yours are now. I love the new textures from the last 2 versions, too!
Here's the quartz column fence I made a littlle while ago using the quartz column texture as well as some additional meta data for 5 stairs that match the non-mesa biome textures for hardened clay (stone brick = grey, nether brick = red, quartz = blue, dark oak = cyan, jungle = green).
Second image is the fence used with other quartz blocks in one of my builds.
After working on one of my server builds, I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any quartz texture for the fence. But after familiarizing myself with resource packs, espeically Conquest, I created my own version from the quartz column texture, which utilizes meta data 5 of the netherbrick fence. If you're interested in seeing it or even utilizing/editing it for Conquest, monsterfisher, just let me know. That aside, I love the resource pack, and can't wait to see what you do next!
@Woot
Okay, so maybe I'm not quite understanding what you said to do, or maybe there's a mod conflict, but how exactly do I need to install the 1.7.2 Xtreme Edition? Do I need both client and server, as singleplayer can now support a server? Or is it because I'm using Optifine? Or, as with most other mods, is it because I'm not deleting the META-INF folder?
Okay, I've tested the routes I asked about above (except uninstalling Optfine), and here's the issues I'm having:
1) Clientside only, no other changes makes Minecraft get stuck on "Loading World, Building Terrain" screen.
2) Clientside, no META-INF loads game but causes game to crash when trying to load a world.
3) Clientside+Serverside, w/ or w/out META-INF makes Minecraft not actually launch. Launcher closes as if to start the game, then comes back, as if the game opened then closed itself with no errors.
@Supersnaketate Doesn't explain how they're working on the rest of the blocks, but you're probably right, it's just not quite finished yet.
@monsterfisher And you deserve every bit of it for the work you do, it's brilliant. I's just annoying that Adfly doesn't work for the dl link, is all. I figured, and that's what I planned on doing, but i just wanted to make sure.
And thanks, I hadn't looked through all of the new texture files in your latest version yet. It doesn't bother me much, since I don't play just to stare at the grass. But I'll let others on my server know, in case it bothers them.
So, a couple things. One, I'm running a MC server, and as of yet it's not a bukkit server, meaning I have to provide a link directly to the resource pack I want people to download, which I can't do thanks to Adfly. Is there any way you could help me out? I love your Textures and have been using them for all my builds for the past year now.
And on another note, why does the message on the Double Tallgrass not go away even though I have Optifine? I don't mind it, normally, since I only recently installed optifine again, but it's annoying now that I've met the conditions to make it go away...
Not that I expect you to do it, since it'd be a lot of extra work compared to what you already do, but I'd love to see you, or anyone, really, make textures for the Custom NPC mod. I feel like this TP/RP and that mod would work beautifully together, and I'm just not adept enough to make a texture pack or additions to a pre-existing one.
But on to the default textures. I think you could add in a little more variation to some of the animals. Not much, but seeing the same old cow over and over again gets a little old, honestly. The squid is an easy fix, just shift the hue around a little and you have a new skin (already did that), but that method doesn't work for the cow, wolf, or pig. Another thing you may consider adding in is the meta data for a hardened clay half slab, if it's possible. I can't imagine needing all 16 colors, but that would be up to you, and how many meta data you can store for an existing half slab.
You have to go into the mod (if you're using forge, it's as simlple as going to the mod's .zip file) and find the "assets" folder. From there, you take each texture and add it into the appropriate folders (ex. armor textures go into the armor folder, etc.). That's the only way I got mine to work.I suppose I should mention how I figured this out. It was bothering me, too, that I couldn't figure it out. Then I remembered that I recently edited a default texture from another mod (the ship marker from the Archimedes Ship Mod) and I got the texture's original file from the mod's folders, not the texture pack's, and that's where I had to save the new textures.
Another thing I thought of, any chance you could add in some textures for Archimede's Ship Mod? I know you're hard at work with the defaul block textures and adding in meta data for them, but there's only 7 different kind of blocks, though there are 22 in total. 16 are simply different colored blocks, as they take on the color of the wool they're made from. I could always give it a go myself, but I feel like it just wouldn't be the same and wouldn't quite match. Just a thought, afterall, I feel like your resource pack works wonderfully with the mod.
Keep up the great work!
Any chance there's a fully up to date version elsewhere? I can't access either link for the download on the first page thanks to my antivirus for my school... :/
Yeah, I realize that now. My problem was I wasn't seeing additional pages past like page 10, so I the comments were still from 2012. I check again earlier today and suddenly I could see all the way to page 43, which I promptly when back to page 1, clicked the download link, and changed over to the new version.
I love this TP!
Unfortunately, when I converted it to a resource pack it messed up some of the textures, particularly some of the animate ones like water. Also the extra meta-data doesn't work anymore for me. Will you be converting this over? If so, when will you start?

What is that wedge in the first image next to the droppers/dispensers? And fantastic job, as usual!
