I never grew up watching TV shows. Quite a movie addict though. Favorite late 80's movie was The Abyss.
Do you agree to the rules?
Of course.
Anything else about yourself goes here:
I will be playing with Asphyroth once he applies. I do enjoy talking in Skype if anyone cares to chat. I'm a more technical-loving player, and I was going to wait until 1.5 came out before I joined a server, but I just really feel like playing again, so here I am.

I also hate griefers (as most players should).
The only thing I dislike about nerfing spawner-based xp farms is that these forums are going to be filled with people crying that they can't get dark room mob grinders to work because they never had to use their brain before.
Seriously, the limited end game content that there is should at least be difficult to pull off (and I know that mob grinders aren't hard to make, but there are a lot of variations, and some make sense for certain situations more so than others).
Also, Notch gave us the base ground to work with for this game. Then he moved on and is still doing that with other things. He doesn't enjoy sitting on one project for one time. He's happy to let Jeb work as lead developer for Minecraft and Jeb is happy to take that role. Both of them contributed quite a lot to the game, and you can easily notice the major changes as time continues to pass. It's not a bad thing.
Probably the first time I experimented with redstone-powered minecart stations. I was really happy when I got it to work and had to show it to all of my friends on the Minecraft server I played on.
Sometimes portals do not get placed in the correct spot. I would consider the 2nd overworld portal to be the true linking location for the portal in the nether. What you should do is take the coordinates of all three portals, get the difference in distance for the two overworld portals (make sure you are keeping track of direction as well), divide that difference by 8 (to account for the size difference of the Nether), and then move that distance from your Nether portal, creating a new portal at the final spot. That should stop it from going to the incorrect portal once you go back out of the Nether.
I've heard somewhere that squids can't swim upstream though. So if the current is going down, something can be designed off of that.
Squids can swim in whatever direction they want except straight upwards. The current rarely gets the squid to move where the player wants. What you are doing is a huge time sink that isn't going to achieve you very many results, if any at all. Even when squid farms actually did work (when squids didn't fight water currents), the number of squids you got was fairly poor. Overall, it just is not worth the time.
You can't transport the squid anymore. They fight water currents too well, and are only 1 block high, so pistons are very hard to pull off (not to mention how many pistons you would need).
That said, you can probably just go around with a looting sword and get however many inksacs you would need.
First thing to do: press F3 and check what biome you are in.
1. If you are in an ocean biome or desert, animals will not spawn. You will need to go to the nearest landmass and drag them back with wheat.
2. If you are not in an ocean biome or desert, then animals will spawn eventually. If you REALLY need animals now, then go get them anyways, but otherwise you can afford to wait.
Try to play around with stairs to make your wall look less flat than it is. I don't really know what this building is supposed to be, so I can't really help give specific suggestions. Once you make the wall less flat though, it kind of makes it more apparent with how you can switch it so you use more than one type of block (the key is to not use too many different types of blocks though).

Personally, gravel was my least favorite texture for the default textures, but I use a texture pack anyways, so my opinion is basically null and void.

Bit early to be so condescending.
1.3.2 added the horizontal logs to trees for branches, instead of them being vertical like usual.

Inventory: Sticks (always upper right). Don't ask me why I carry sticks all the time. Couldn't tell you.

STOP SAYING THIS!!! Animals still respawn, just 400x more rarely than they did during early beta.
