Meowdy, I'm looking for chill players to join a pure vanilla java 1.18 PvE survival server aimed at pushing the limits of what we can do in vanilla MC. It's a vanilla JAR with no gameplay altering datapacks, command blocks, all gamerules set to default, and on hard difficulty. I never intend on resetting the world, it'll stay the same through all updates. The server is located in the Eastern US.
In Game Rules:
-NO PVP/ GRIEFING. The ONLY exception is if all involved parties agree to it AND get admin approval beforehand.
-Generally anything possible in vanilla Minecraft is allowed here, except item dupe glitches. Don't do those.
-Don't build anything that will cause excessive lag (keep in mind this is a vanilla JAR, so some optimizations and stuff that are present in paper/spigot/etc. aren't present here). You won't really be punished for this unless you're intentionally making lag machines or refuse to listen to staff when we ask you to scale things back.
-Racism/Sexism/Homophobia/Transphobia/bigotry in general is
absolutely not allowed. Don't be an a-hole. This extends to builds too.
-Don't ask staff for free stuff, or beg other players.
-Hacking (xray, flyhacks, etc..) is 100% not allowed. Simple stuff like Optifine is fine. If you're wondering if your client side mod is fine or not, please ask me first.

Here's a few screenshots of stuff players have built.
A Bit More Server Info:
Server Address is: mc.adorablecat.org
The server was reset when 1.18 fully released. This will be the only server wipe ever.
The server is running the vanilla Minecraft server JAR. That means no plugins, and pure vanilla gameplay. In addition, all gamerules are set to their defaults, and will not change. No gameplay altering datapacks or command blocks will be present on the server.
OP/Admin tools are used very sparingly (I will be playing with the same constraints as any other survival player)
Why is the server domain adorablecat.org? Because I'm too cheap to pay another 12 dollars a month for another domain name.
For the curious, the server itself is using a Core i7 3770, 16GB of
RAM (12GB of which are allocated to Minecraft), a plain old SATA SSD for
decent boot and server launch times. All sitting in a cute little
briefcase lookin box in my kitchen. It might be upgraded if I ever have
the spare parts / money.

Do you agree to follow the rules?: (yes/no)
How old are you? (I don't care much unless you're under 13, which is against Discords ToS):
What do you have the most fun doing in Minecraft?:
Fixed a problem where potions could just fall all the way down and hit players (this happened if it logged multiple events too fast. The first potion summoned would kill all the villagers and then the other potions simply fell out of the sky). I just kill all the potions tagged with "killpot" below y level 850 (though it was funny to see a griefer get confused in the logs and start talking thinking I was invisible and watching them)
added the setup function to load.json so it'll set itself up on first run. thanks 4P5. Also added a message when it's starting up that says the version. Also this means when you update the datapack you won't have to re run the setup function to make any new scoreboard values.
removed a bunch of unnecessary scoreboard checks, also thanks to 4P5.I'll look into putting the scoreboard checks on a schedule and see how that turns out for the next update.
Have you ever wanted to run a vanilla server but hate not being able to actually log and enforce griefing rules? This datapack can help by logging a wide variety of player actions such as opening chests, placing TNT, using flint and steel, and more. All you have to do is place the datapack in your world/datapacks folder and then run /vanillog:setup to create all the required scoreboard objectives. Then you'll be able to see in your server log every time a player does one of the tracked actions.
The Log:
The log might look a little convoluted and confusing (because truthfully it is, vanilla minecraft doesn't have a easy way to simply log something without saying it to every player), but all the relevant information is there:
VanilLog isn't intended to stop or prevent griefing, but give admins the information to determine who may have done the griefing. I made it specifically to have as little impact on gameplay as possible, you're free to modify it to log whatever else you might want to log and if you have any suggestions please let me know, this is the first datapack I've ever made so I'm open to constructive criticism. It is also not perfect, there are probably plenty of ways to get around detection due to limitations in minecraft, such as detecting killing non mob entities not working and no stats for opening chest boats, chest minecarts, etc.
A complete list of actions that VanilLog currently logs:
Opening Chests
Breaking Chests
Opening Barrels
Breaking Barrels
Opening Shulker Boxes
Breaking Shulker Boxes
Opening Hoppers
Breaking Hoppers
Placing TNT and TNT Minecarts
Placing Dispensers
Picking up item frames. Unfortunately due to bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-128473 minecraft.killed:minecraft.item_frame and much more doesn't work, so this is the best I can do to track people breaking item frames.
Picking up filled maps. This is a problem for me cuz people keep breaking map art and stuff.
Using Lava and Water Buckets
Using Flint and Steel and Fire Charges
Breaking Coal, Iron, Gold, Emerald, Diamond, and Netherite Blocks
Breaking Beacons
Breaking Farmland
Placing Hoppers
Placing Hopper Minecarts
Picking up glow item frames
Picking up Hopper Minecarts
Picking up Chest Minecarts
Breaking any Sign or Hanging Sign variant
Breaking and Opening Furnaces, Smokers, and Blast Furnaces
Breaking Spawners
Breaking Lodestones
Using End Crystals
To briefly explain how it works, it monitors scoreboard objectives for all the actions you want to log. When a player does something you want to log, the datapack summons a baby pig with a name describing the action exactly 1000 blocks above the player. It then spawns a harming area effect cloud at the pig and sets the "owner" of the cloud to the player. The potion kills the pig, and the pigs death message serves as the log entry.

What are you good at in Minecraft: building functional stuff like farms.
Why you would like to join: since the NarniaCraft server's shutting down I'd like to continue playing with that familiar community.
How long have you been playing: ~8 years
What Style you build in: I'm really not the best at building good looking stuff. I like to build big stuff out of obsidian just as a flex but other than that I don't have a particular style.
Q: What is your favorite/preferred base/building style?[/b]
A: I'm kinda garbage at building stuff that looks good so instead I just try to make functional stuff.
Q: Do you have any experience with Minecraft communities?[/b]
A: Plenty, been playing about 8 years now. Never really found one that I've wanted to stick with, but I've been getting interested in technical MC stuff so I've been trying to find a good mostly pure vanilla server where I can build big stuff and not worry about it getting destroyed in a day. I'm also experienced in hosting servers myself.
