Bumping?? Really?? Ah well, I would recommend grabbing yourself the one player sleep plugin. It does exactly what it sounds like, and it means that night is something that can actually be avoided.
I think complete dying of all colors makes perfect sense. On the hermitcraft server, they have a datapack for glass, wool, beds, etc being dyeable in that way.
Turns out that we're both wrong. According to the wiki, netherrack takes .35 seconds with a wood pickaxe, .2 with a stone, and .1 with higher tiers. It's likely that the wiki may have rounded these numbers and that diamond does mine faster than iron, but it's objectively slower to mine using stone or wood. Iron's still not a free material, and you'd likely go through about an anvil's worth of iron to find a single debris (not vein, debris. you need 4 debris to upgrade a tool or armor piece.)
Mojang has stated they want to keep redstone consistent and easy to understand for new players. TNT is one of the most common introductions to redstone for players, and adding something confusing like this would only make redstone more convoluted and confusing.
A natural issue about this kind of thing is durability. You can break around 1300 blocks with a diamond pick, and ancient debris appears about every 1/650 blocks (in peak areas, according to your data). With you needing 4 scrap to get a new pick, it takes about 2 diamond picks durability to upgrade a tool. With netherite being only (approximately) 11% better, this doesn't seem like a worthwhile thing.
There is the fact that nether wart is used in almost all good potions. Additionally, cleric villagers also give easy access to the brewing stand, which is just as much of a progression skip as the cauldron idea.
Minecraft's farming potential is great, and it's clearly something they want to have based on all the things they've done for 1.16 (nearly everything is farmable). Chickens right now have a very different and interesting way of breeding compared to every other mob in minecraft, and that's something I really appreciate about them.
Netherite is only 11% better than diamond for tools, and the difference seems to be similar for armor. It's about as life changing as a protection 1 book on your armor (4% damage protection x 4 armor pieces = >16% reduction), so I'd argue it's really not worth being gated to the incredible activity of strip mining this thread encourages.
You're right! Instead of having a challenging fortress to get our netherite, we should all click on netherrack blocks for excessive amounts of time until we get some netherite, because that's a more skilled option!

Make sure you're using 3 lapiz instead of 1 when you put lapiz in the enchanting table. Don't know what else could be causing the issue.

Villagers will not breed shortly after a death in the family, but I think it might be another issue causing this.

Cool, but is it in the snapshots? I'll probably play either way, just want to know

Based on the fact that the last 2 snapshots had nothing to do with the nether, I'm going to go out on a limb and say they're almost done.
